Particularly Windows and AI. Those are two things that should not be running vehicles!

Stellantis group card had already made it on my 'never recommended' list some time ago, with the reports of bricked cars and gated service systems.
If I can't access it, to fix it, and get parts to repair it, it's dead to me.

Bloody love Auto Shenanigans videos. Jon is ace
(although I think he's afraid of sea crossings)
We had one as a courtesy car a few weeks ago, so I got to rins... have a little drive of it. I actually really liked it - narrower than the ID4 and distinctly peppier.
Narrowness of vehicles is a big factor in whether I like them these days, because I'm crashing about on little IW roads mostly.
Just saw the press photos of VW's revised ID3 'Neo' and - although I'm sure they're selectable - just look at those dashboard graphics! Now that's mining your heritage in a cool way

Iranian Embassy releases cartoon of Donald Trump.
- The cartoon shows Trump stranded at the Strait of Hormuz.

In trying to make sense of Trump, and the consequences of Trump, I think it is useful to focus on his personality traits.
When you combine those traits with the power vested in the Presidency of the US, you get a recipe for disaster.
And that's where we are.

Iran hits back on social media.
Elon does not acknowledge the existence of those below the level of middle class.
Those people aren't his customers.
Look at his businesses - it's written throughout his history.
You have to feel sorry for James Dyson. Imagine buying up 33,000 acres of farmland to avoid tax, only for Labour to then close the loophole. We need more patriots like him, who drive up farmland prices and vote for Brexit then fuck off to Singapore.
I endorse this message - Dyson is a scumbag.
Also, his products are shit.
Apparently the democracy isnβt as strong as we thought.
The US equivalent is probably SO vegetable.
we'll be paying from public funds, for security guards in the shops next, to avoid dealing with the cause, instead focusing on the symptoms, harder.
it's the dropping all windows and deciding that's how the windows should remain which are also pretty horrifying.
Can't be all bad though - they're being used en-mass in NYC as taxis!
Ignoring the headline, it's almost like if you strip away youth support services, for more than a decade, increasing numbers of kids will make their own entertainment, which might not be very well guided.
they're SO tempting where the price point is now and the story and ongoing support network is incredible, but they're just a little too high-risk to recommend to Mrs Hell as our principle daily.

For reference, I took it out on the road and destroyed the paradox - the repair had been completed completely effectively.
As a result, I had a vehicle which was experiencing Schrodinger's Repair Paradox.
It was simultaneously repaired and not repaired at the same time.
I completed a repair on a vehicle recently. It had been showing engine warning lights previously.
I started it and it idled on the ramp, with no warning lights.
The vehicle was, at this point, fixed.
However, if I took it out it might trigger warning lights and it would not be repaired.
everyone's using what's going on to panic and increase their prices... posibly speculatively.
To paraphrase what @mrjalco.bsky.social said 'capitalists gonna capitalist'. The law of supply and demand will do its thing.
Biggest question is - how far will it go?
I see you're keen to visit your friends in Dumbfuckistan, during this presidential term, with no issues getting a visa.... (you timed your state-side adventure just about right, didn't you?!)
A history of the top marginal tax rates on the wealthiest Americans:
1940: 81%
1950: 84%
1960: 91%
1970: 72%
1980: 70%
1990: 28%
2000: 40%
2010: 35%
For 50 years, corporate backed politicians in Congress have slashed taxes to line the pockets of their wealthy donors.
Also, the 'fast moving' pricing of auto-factors feels rather price-gouge-y, when you stop and think. I wasn't about to start remonstrating at the counter, but they're selling oil that was refined and packaged well before the illegal war in Iran started.
@ajpbradley.bsky.social thoughts on this?
So, if you have a pending requirement to service a vehicle in the next couple of months, I would strongly recommend you head to Halfords whose oil pricess aren't quite as fast-moving - you might well cut the price of the oil for your service in half.
Oh, you think petrol prices have gone up?
Have you been in to an autofactor recently and bought engine oil?
I paid Β£48 for 5 litres of very ordinary 5W-30 yesterday. When I questioned it the response was 'it's all gold-plated now'. They were discussing another increase of 12% that will go on today
