The Vesalius Trust awarded student Athena Li a 2026 research grant for her project SonoSpine: A digital simulator for ultrasound-assisted lumbar spinal anaesthesia.

SonoSpine is an interactive educational tool for anaesthesiology trainees that simulates ultrasound training.

The Vesalius Trust awarded BMC student Josip Petrusa a 2026 research grant. The grant supports his master's research to reimagine how biomimicry–nature-inspired problem solving–is taught to biology undergrads.

Josip is using animation to connect ideas of sustainability, healthcare and water access.
