Sorry - Bible prof here and cannot resist nerding out over movable deities!
That actually originates from Ezekiel! The exilic community needed a new theology that wasn’t “god only lives in the temple” since the temple had been destroyed. So they developed this winged chariot idea and boom. Religion as we know changes.
Was excited to vote to end Landsman’s political career in 2027 but it looks like Chotiner already did 😂

An excerpt from Chotiner’s New Yorker interview with Greg Landsman. All I meant, Congressman, is we’re putting the war in the hands of two people, and I asked you if you think that they would care about a girl’s school being bombed, and you— Yeah. I mean, but again, I would certainly hope. But the people who are making these decisions, the folks who are on the ground actually executing these decisions, I believe they do care. And yeah, they care. And yeah, they care
Couldn’t even muster a cogent thought about civilian death. We will remember this at the polls in 2027, Congressman.

How naive can you be - when this is the rhetoric in which the current admin is couching this war. And you want to extend the war powers? You support this?

Is the murder of school children a “targeted strike on the regime’s missiles and bombs,” Greg?

Biblical scholar here. Kings are very bad.
As a biblical scholar who can never escape randos “teaching” me all the secrets of the Bible, I am 1000% here for this content. Now I can respond to their numerology with leviathan!
“A piece of broccoli” cool cool cool that’s definitely how you consume broccoli. One piece. At a time.

Campion is a boss! I am also enjoying Gladys Mitchell and Ngaio Marsh. All three present such different yet likable mystery solving characters!
I prefer “The Hebrew Bible and its Greek appendix”

We don't have the music for it, but again, the BBC article has a good go at describing some commonalities of the music that tends to accompany lullabies, so that might inspire you. The rough translation for that Babylonian lullaby, by the way, is: Little Baby in the dark house You have seen the sun rise Why are you crying? Why are you screaming? You have disturbed the house god. 'Who has disturbed me?' says the house god. 'It is the baby who has disturbed you! 'Who scared me?' says the house god. 'The baby has disturbed you, the baby has scared you, making noises like a drunkard who cannot sit still on his stool. He has disturbed your sleep! 'Call the baby now, says the house god. • 4 Reply A & Vote & Join the conversation
