NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.
'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:

Big fan of Obsidian Portal but other games use Discord to save our campaign info.
And we have them at work for sprints, etc... just the usual cognitive "but I can't use this for *me*" blindspot. This will help.
I really like the idea of a reflection/reassessment loop. As someone else that has quarterly notes/calendars that keep me vaguely organized, I hadn't thought of adding that loop in. I have my notes, so I know what I worked on or things that I needed to follow up on, but that would definitely help.
We need a local game night.
Best day of the week. Our #PF2E Kingmaker game. #TTRPG My little druid is growing up so fast, especially, now that she's got Dinosaur Form. Looking forward to tonight's fight.
It boggles my mind that we’re reduced to asking the worst nominees in history to follow the law rather than being able to block/vote them down. The party in power has the numbers and will rubber stamp every nominee.

I think that should be a fundamental rule. Many don't.
Having played a number of GURPS games, where the players spun repeatedly without getting a valuable clue, I started adding the Gumshoe rules about partial success/complications to allow movement on the mystery.
Swordspoint and that whole series of audiobooks?
This is tragic and why capitalism is an evil. Because the cotton growers went protectionist for themselves instead of picking a better seed that required less of their money!

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!
100% with you hating the restructuring and line editing slog.
I'm just happy that Sheehy didn't get the nod after that awful thing with the marine yesterday. Mullin has been working the news, so clearly that's what Trump wants.
I just assume that they're banking the rules being enforced unevenly, so that the costs will only affect those that they want to suffer.
This is so monstrous. I used to think we weren't this country, but they're doing it in our names.
Pavlovian responses suck. In college, I accidentally set myself up for failure listening to Dead Can Dance before bed every night before we went to their concert the next month. Went to the show and promptly fell asleep two songs in just like I’d trained myself to do.
Good luck on set.
Fox 9 MN reporter Paul Blume: "SHOCKING FEDERAL COURT MOMENT: DOJ attorney Julie Le, 'The system sucks, this job sucks' to Judge Jerry Blackwell who pressed her on why so many court orders are being ignored by ICE/Trump admin. She asked to be held in contempt just so she could get 24 hours of sleep"
Or at least what the cool kids were talking about yesterday.
We've created a climate of fear, but let's demonize the people that are afraid.
This could have been handled in a different way. The child should NEVER have been used as a bait--full stop. ICE tactics show that they are monsterous.
They’ve been doing that on international flights for months out of Boston. Happened on multiple UK flights last year.
I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS
If he’ll step down, let him host on cbs every night.
Please take a few minutes to watch this and see what was done in our name.
Happiest Holidays.
With the line edits finished. This draft is officially completed. Next step, lining up Alpha readers to see what someone that’s not me thinks. #Writing
Tip for anyone using @scrivenerapp.bsky.social : composition mode with focus turned on can let you focus on individual sentences. Big help for me.
One of my favorites things about living in a city is the day to day crush of people. You get glimpses into their worlds: flirty looks from young love, laughing students, familiar faces, and everything else.
All of the wonders you might miss when not using public transit. #MBTA
I’d recommend membership and if you can swing it, some time with a trainer. More equipment, accountability, and the ability to work with a professional to change your program as you evolve.
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.
I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.
More and more, it's getting clear that being overly reliant on a single service such as Cloudflare makes your site and your brand vulnerable.
Thank you.
