Made this for an author takeover, but it was too fun not to share. I might use this in a future creative writing class to get them inspired with something different. What #mystery character are you? I'm an Outgoing Gossip (clearly fiction!). π

New platform, same great content! Come check out our new e-scholarship site!
March Reads: A Share in Death, We Solve Murders, The Murder House, Death of a Gossip, Death of a Cad, Murder on the Orient Express
One for the Money, Shady Hollow, 12 Radio Mysteries, Feel the Bern, His Perfect Crime
To be honest: March was rough. I bounced off many of these probably because I was in a crappy headspace. A few of these were written in the 90s & I was turned off by the more casual attitude to issues like domestic violence. Fingers crossed that April is kinder. What's next on your TBR pile?

For a mystery video game, I always recommend Overboard! by @inkle.co Still haven't won yet, but it keeps me coming back every time!
This was an amazing panel! I was also one of the proudly geeky, bespectacled people there knitting a rainbow scarf, nodding my head at everything said. Thanks for this detailed recap!
So glad you enjoyed it! π
I know we aren't supposed to have favorites...but I admit this weird little story of mine has a special place in my heart. ππ
White person holding an award while standing in front of photos of the winners of the President's Diversity and Inclusion Award
Proud to have been awarded my campus's President's Diversity and Inclusion Award today. It was wonderful seeing the student recipients (almost all of whom I've had in class before!) and meeting their families. Really proud to do this important work making our campus more accessible and inclusive.
Hat and tote that read "in my f*ck fascism era"

Cover of "Trail Gone Dark" By Sophie Lyon and a granny square to match.
The book blanket continues with a K-9 mystery, "Trail Gone Dark" by Sophie Lyon. So far I've done a dozen squares and had to bust out a spreadsheet to keep things organized.

Thank you so much! Looking forward to my first Malice.
A book titled Something Prowling in Paradise Park has a rising moon behind the sharp stems of an agave, with a purple background, saguaro cacti, cliffs, and faint pawprints. Text says: Out March 2. Filled with twists, humor, and heart, Something Prowling in Paradise Park delivers the perfect blend of cozy mystery, female sleuth suspense, and found-family crime solving. Fans of J.A. Jance, Elly Griffiths, and Ann Cleeves will love this page-turner set against Arizonaβs sunbaked secrets.
Former war correspondent Kate Tessler will be back soon!π΅οΈββοΈ
Three cases. One body. Zero chance of staying out of trouble.
With humor and high stakes, The Accidental Detective mysteries prove that danger and friendship donβt retire quietly.

The weird and wonderful things that come to life out of my husband's brain. Such cool art!
Love his little nose. <boop>
Board game of Clue
Had my students play #Clue today in preparation for their Clue(re)do assignment in which they modernize the classic game featuring a setting/cast/weapons of their choice. One group marveled at the older copy I had bought at the thrift store (which is the same version I played as a kid).

Oh awesome! Thank you so much!
Charlieβs Pick - Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective - A deep dive into Victorian London! Solve the case by doing what Sherlock does best: interview suspects, search newspapers for clues, and use your wits to put it all together.
Estherβs Pick - Mysterium - In this cooperative seance-themed game, one player takes on the role of a ghost, giving cryptic clues to the other players so they can solve the ghostβs murder. A delightful deduction based party game.
Pipβs Pick - The Animals of Baker Street - A cooperative deduction game featuring the real detectives of Baker Street: the cute animals! With six cases to solve, thereβs a lot of replayability here in this game for the whole family.
