It's fascinating to see some people frame the public movement against building data centers as NIMBYism. Data centers are an environmental and health disaster that exacerbates already existing inequalities. Ensuring they don't get built near your house is NOT like wanting to ban bike lanes.

The focus on slowing e-bikes would be less irritating if legislators were doing much, much more to actually make it safer to bike slower.
In fact, a lot of the demand for fast e-bikes is a direct result of decision makers’ failure to prioritize safety for slower road users.
The bills attempting to lower the speed limits for ebikes are infuriating.
If we can't ride the speed limit on residential streets, you are putting us in danger.
If you're going to lower the e bike speed limit to 16 mph, than the speed limit for cars on residential streets should also be 16 mph.
