A lot of you know me for my crayon drawings. I was diagnosed at a young age with autism and for the first ten years of my life I was nonverbal and needed special education and assistance.

During my time on this earth, I have faced many instances of ableism, discrimination, ostracism, physical and sexual violence. Both in everyday life and online.

Ableism and discrimination is unfortunately still a glaring issue, which can cause real harm to those of us with autism. I am lucky to be in better life circumstances now and have some success with my art, but others are not so lucky.

I cannot speak for all autistic people, but I hope by sharing my experience, I have brought some awareness to what some of us may face due to our diagnosis.
