Tactically this seems pretty dumb. Surely it's in the GOP's interests to keep both primary candidates on a level playing field and hopefully take both spots in the general, and *then* endorse? He wouldn't want the GOP voters to abandon the other candidate, potentially allowing a Dem to overtake.
