I know that there's peeps in Wellington who are struggling following flooding - some having lost everything. But, please, pray for the REAL VICTIMS here - Fossil Fuel companies and the politicians they fund. People will demand Green alternatives to prevent CC - oh, THE HORROR!

Don't National MPs know that everything will be fine if they just pull their polling numbers up by their bootstraps?

There is no homelessness, there is no fuel crisis - who you gonna believe? The Govt, or your own lying, cheating eyes and ears?

Rents in Wellington to increase $46.50 next year up to $131.37 by 2036. Or, using landlord logic, $100 next year up to $250 by 2036 - just for water. Additional increases based on 'vibe' not included in calculations.

A portmanteau of disinformation and nation, describing a country in which evidence-based policymaking is systematically displaced by policy shaped by disinformation, lobbying, and the interests of powerful actors

An 'unmeritocracy' – a modest proposal Comment from the University of Otago: Previously ‘essential’ workers are being told society is a meritocracy, and their situation is their own fault for not seeking roles of actual value to society

The economy is recovering for those whose voices matter. Those struggling can be safely ignored - unless it's to tell them that their struggles are (somehow) being caused by those also struggling.

And the more they struggle, the better for those whose voices matter.

If this Government is not trying to take over your professional organisation as a naked power grab to prevent dissent then you are obviously not trying hard enough.

Today, I'm going to genuinely smile at a stranger - could be at the supermarket; maybe the gas station; may be while walking down the street. Might even say "Hi, how are you?".

No one can stop me.

Relax, it’s only poor brown people in prison who’ll lose their vote. Rich white criminals usually get a fine or home detention, so they’ll still be voting.

Happy Days.

Day 16 of stopping smoking because David Seymour said 'smokers are heroes because they pay lots of excise tax and don't need a pension' (cause they're dead).

Love never made be stop smoking but spite and pettiness did.

Thanks, David, I owe you one.

If DS calls you a hero then you're doing something wrong.

Spot on - I gave up on the Panel years ago as it was simply the same old paid lobbyists spouting nothing but talking points; or, some old guy who would shout down actual experts in topics in which said old guy knew bugger all.

I remember when John Key was elected, Paddy talking about how plush the carpet was at Sky City - he fully went on about it for a minute or two. It was ridiculous - I think he was trying to highlight the difference between National and Labour's events that night. He was ALWAYS like this

I worry this will mean defaulting to whatever plan that National has because Labour will be so eager to appear responsible, and National will not stick to any agreement if ACT or NZF deem it to be undesirable.

Getting rid of the current coalition takes precedence over the circular firing squad pre-election; however, post-election the gloves (have to) come off.

I feel like some potential National voters may think, "There'll be no asset sales cause the public doesn't want them", and then vote for National; only to find after the election the Nats say, "Your vote was a mandate for asset sales". Perhaps messaging needs to reflect that.
