Juan Linz was the most internationally renowned and widely recognized Spanish social scientist of the twentieth century.

The IJL is the proud descendant of the Instituto Carlos III-Juan March (IC3JM) and of its predecessors at the Juan March foundation.

We are now writing a new page without the backing of the foundation, under a new legal arrangement.

Hoy @piedrasdepapel.bsky.social publica un artículo mío sobre diferencias sustanciales entre la orientación sexual declarada de jóvenes y mayores.

Aparece una tendencia muy clara, sobre todo entre mujeres: Cuanto más jóvenes, mayor proporción se declara bisexual.

Gracias Stuart! Desde luego, es probable que la categoría bisexual está menos penalizada si eres mujer que si eres hombre.

Al mismo tiempo, es posible que la categoría lesbiana esté más penalizada que la categoría gay. No sé, son cuestiones súper interesantes de las que sé aún muy poco.

La relación entre juventud y proporción de mujeres que se declara bisexual no parece depender de la clase social o del nivel de estudios alcanzados.

No hay divergencia, en cambio, en la identificación como gay/lesbiana.

Una mayor proporción de hombres se declara como gay que mujeres como lesbianas. Y estas proporciones no cambian tanto con las cohortes de edad.

Aquí el gráfico con la proporción de personas bisexuales en función de:

(1) edad
(2) género
