I think what happened is that YouTube stopped algorithmically recommending shitpost material in favour of sponsored & monetised srs bzns videos. Normy takeover. It's a bad change. It has been many years since I last browsed around YouTube just for fun.

I have been "checked out" since 2018 (I was made redundant.) It isn't the first time, 2008~2015 was the same. My adult life has been a mess. I'm 40 in August and I can't see a better future or really any future for myself.

hate to be a h8r and yuck anyone's yum (no-one's reading anyway, it's fine) but SD3 was a big part of my (unorthodox) teens, it's precious to me.

There's a few bits in the English dub that I don't mind. Angela is the most notable exception, well acted even if she is made even more annoying. :D

I disagree with claims commenters made during this infamous playthrough, that the Japanese dub isn't much better. Even as a non-speaker, you can just tell that it is, there is warmth, humanity, emotion and sincerity in the ways lines are expressed and delivered.

The English dub changes Trials of Mana from a 9/10 to a 6/10 game for me. It is atrociously, comically, immersion breakingly bad. I don't know how anybody could put up with it.

Imagine how angry people would be if this happened in an FF7 or Chrono Trigger remake, then you know how I feel about it!

and yeah as mentioned this is for 7 of 8 games so I am still yet to do it for the three last classes I am missing (Charlotte/Necromancer, Duran/Edelfrei, Angela/Rune Seer)

It's fair to say Seiken Densetsu 3 lives rent free in my head. It has done for 25 years.

I have 100% of the Class 4 gear. I am missing just two other bits of gear; one of Duran's Class 3 shields in one save file and one of Hawkeye's Class 3 weapons in another. The rest are fully done - or as done as they're getting, short of starting over.

I grinded this today and damn it was repetitive, but it was nice to experience frivolous play with all the character classes in turn. Found the best rainbow seed farming spots in Mirage Palace, Dark Castle & Anise's Blockade (DragonsMaw sucks for this.)

I don't have a Boards of Canada VHS tape :( BUT I do have a limited edition Geogaddi Kaleidoscope :) :) it's a lovely thing.

ToTK sequel called The Tears That Became the Ocean (TTTBtO, slick acronym), which adds a whole undersea biome you can flap around in, doing even more bugger all for more 100s of hours. (I'd still play it tbh)

Anyway I'm almost done completing 7/8 save games as far as I can, for uhhhh, "fun" I think! Getting whatever NPC Abilities I still can, harvesting rainbow seeds for the best gear, levelling, beating Anise and the Black Rabite for the other abilities. Then I have an 8th quest to start... sometime~

It gets worse! There's limited chance Chain Abilities obtained thru NPC interactions, e.g. the King of Valsena, the Elf Elder, and especially Watts; he's the worst because you need to have enough money early in the game, you can fuck it up, AND his ability becomes useful late game. #TrialsofMana
