Day 175 of going to the gym
Did a pretty solid lower body workout today. Tomorrow the trainer will probs ask and I can say I did lower body and she can proceed to punish my upper body or cardiovascular system. If she tries to make me do the sled, I can say, can’t do it, my legs are spent! 🤷‍♀️

Worked the upper body today. I actually did what I set out to do and that always feels good. Having a plan is always a good idea, but it rarely goes according to plan. So far, today just has. I love those days!

Today was trainer day and we did legs. Then all of a sudden my knee rebels. It’s okay, stretch afterwards. Trainer day also means + One Stop Nutrition shake day. It’s the little things that keep me sane!

Did some qigong while my 4 month old grandbaby giggled at me. I went to the gym and worked upper body/cardio with that giggle as my fuel. Being able to play with her on the floor, is my reward. Couldn’t have done it this time last year! #fitness

My knees were not made for squats. That or squats were invented to tax my knees. Either way, owww!!!!!! Tomorrow will have to be upper body for practical reasons. That is assuming I get out of bed. Assume!? Hmm…we shall see. #fitness

I’m so happy to go today. I don’t know why! It just felt really normal and I have been anything but consistent lately. I guess today was the official return to consistency! #fitness #fitover50

Didn’t want to go. I had every excuse ready: I’m tired, I’m sore, we have guests, it’ll be too busy there. I went. The gym was busy but I did my workout anyway. No regrets. That’s the best part. Being able to say “did it!” #fitness

Trainer day was a solid leg day. Apparently I’ve graduated to doing real lunges while walking. It doesn’t feel like a graduation! It’s just one more way to highlight my poor balance and lack of grace. #fitness

Ya know how you make a post about getting to the gym and then proceed to be sick and skip for the next 4 days? Well that sucked! Feel better today albeit a bit low energy. I stayed low key with bike and some upper body. But I went. #fitness

Ya know how when you take a day or two off and then it feels like genuine work getting to the gym? Well, that was today. I got there! Did some upper body and cardio and quite frankly, taking a break doesn’t feel better than going. Just go! #fitness
Day 164 of going to the gym
Today was a scan day and my trainer cancelled. I had a stretch scheduled already so I went for the stretch and did the scan anyway. I’m counting this as a gym day, because I went! I was so sore I just skipped the working out part. So sue me!

These lower body sessions that the trainer created for me are going to be the death of me. I really hope they are goals and not what I’m supposed to be actually achieving. Cuz? Not there yet! #fitness

Day 162 of going to the gym
Today was cardio and some light core. The fact that my back was only a bit creaky and not experiencing pain is a good sign. Learned some new things with cables and didn’t fall on my butt is a “win” day! Take’m when you can. #fitness
Day 161 of going to he gym
Lower body workout today. Some at the gym, but some home. I hate lunges and I can’t actually walk doing them. My balance is bad. I do them beside my house so I have the house and wall to steady myself. However, if I fall, it’s cement pavers under me. #fitness

Finally was able to access exercises that my PT put in an app. Months ago I abandoned what she put in there because I couldn’t do any of it. Today I completed everything. It wasn’t always pretty, but it’s done! Progress doesn’t always appear in the mirror. #fitness

Lower body with the trainer today. At the end she gave me a choice, sled or incline walking. The sled is the bane of my existence and shoots my HR way up. I chose the sled. Sometimes it’s good to hard things! Yay me. #fitness
Day 158 of going to the gym
Quick trip to the gym today. Just treadmill and out. Places to go, grandchild to babysit! No knee pain and I kind of feel great! I started the morning with a little (10 minutes) qigong outdoors and it is making all the difference to my day. #fitness

Went to do a lower body workout today and forgot to put on my knee braces on. Did the lower body workout and I feel ok. Tomorrow? I’m hoping for the best here. No pain after the immediate workout is a good sign and that’s a positive sign!

Today was a great day. I started my new morning of some qigong in the sun, went to the gym and did a strong upper body workout and then went home and stretched in the pool. It felt like my motivation is revving up again. #fitness

Went with just cardio today, generally. One ab machine but mostly cardio. My gym’s app said I have the cardio level of a 71 year old. I’m 58 and that hurt my feelings! It’s fine. I’m not a child and I don’t need coddling. But 71?! That’s just mean!! #fitnessover50

When does the lower back get stronger and stop hurting? I sit too long, I stand too long, it’s pain. I know I’m building core, but my body doesn’t know it. Ice is my friend!

I felt a little more energy going to the gym. The trainer didn’t work me super hard but I had a great stretch session after. I still am working on balance! A gymnast I am NOT!! #fitness #fitover50

Motivation has been a struggle lately. It’s like when a relationship is new and you feel so passionate. Passion wanes and this is where the real relationship begins. I have to do the work and see results and set some more goals. Passion returns, but stronger! #fitness
Is it weird when I put my clothes away, I put them away by color so I can find a matching outfit quicker? I blame Garanimals. GenXer’s will understand!
Day 151 of going to the gym
I’m just not feeling it these days. Upper body workout today felt hard. I’m not a quitter so I’m still going! When will I feel stronger, healthier and more energetic? Just not feeling motivated. I am not a patient person and that is my biggest downfall. #fitness
Day 150 of going to the gym
I was trapped in a drive-thru for forty minutes at a CVS so I arrived at the gym “in a mood.” I almost didn’t go. But I did. I would love to say that I feel much better now, but I’m still feeling a bit spicy about the entire afternoon. Too soon!

Not a stressful cardio day just 40 minutes on the treadmill. It was a means to just go in the sauna afterward.
