I remember that the pre-order price for a cartridge of Metal Slug 5 was $250. But yeah I guess it's an emulation machine in the end. It's pricey but those new cartridges need to emulate some hardware because the console can also read original ones.

I hope that they'll release more than those 10 games. For a complete set of all Metal Slug games you can get more than a new motorcycle.

So far I'm enjoying it again but I have a gigantic pile of side quests. I stumbled right into the new update when I started the game. Glad to hear you like it. I think I will play the new DLC mission and then rush to the end. Maybe I will even finally decide what to do with Kryx's legacy. 😅

Never finished the story back then. Picked it up again a few days ago and realized that I stopped right before the story gets interesting. Definitely an epic moment and this scenery is an awesome design idea.

No Neo Geo system was ever released in Germany and AES systems and games were already super expensive on ebay 20 years ago when I started collecting consoles. So owning an AES with all Metal Slug games was always the holy grail for me as a collector. I'm very hyped by this announcement.

With the helium crisis unfolding electronics will get even more expensive. 😔
