They own Activision now. I think it just became a situation where they were offsetting lost sales on the system in exchange for a price hike, for a series not every Game Pass user was playing. I’ve never played CoD in my life and I was a Game Pass subscriber from early 2021 to late 2025.

Not enough to get me back as a monthly subscriber (especially as I still hunt for full-time work), but this is a good move for Xbox. $30 a month was absurd.

I was a firm believer Hasek should have been been on the cover of a game at some point, whether EA’s game, NHL 2K, or Hitz. Briere would have been a great candidate, but there was a really short window. Miller would have been a good pick, and probably a shoo-in had the U.S. won the gold medal.

I go back and forth on whether I actually like the design and colors. It is a neon explosion.

Not a bad guess, because they did a *lot* with Celebrini last year. He did some (terrible) voice acting for the game’s campaign mode. But I think they’re gonna go with someone that won the gold this year.
