This is the new BPM gimmick - in PROJEKT GODHAND, I've set it up such that individual notes can have their own BPM gimmicks, and I used it in some pretty fun ways across this chart's difficulties.

Obviously "timing groups" are not a new concept, but I've never seen it on "half the notes" like this.
