I don't have a good answer for any of this; I just want a world where it's irrelevant and nonexistent.
The inability to hold bad actors accountable without an entire community taking splash damage also serves (and is perpetuated by) bigots who then use the absence of accountability as proof that marginalized populations aren't capable of self-governance.
This is infantilizing and also really fucks our ability to have any kind of productive accountability within or across communities.
I keep coming back to the fact that one of the weirder facets of of ableism, transphobia, &c. is acting like members of marginalized communities can't also and independently be assholes.

that first part hits hard because of how a certain subset of trans folks had been so harsh with harassment toward transmascs and any trans people who support transmascs
One would think that asking queer people to not misgender, assign identities or respect the identity of other queer people, respect their self determination and definition would not be a **hard** ask
But it has been fucking years of this now.

Trauma survivors very frequently blame ourselves if we're misunderstood-- even though humans misunderstand (& misrepresent) each other all the time.
There are gonna be people who wouldn't understand if you spelled it out for them w/ a Speak & Spell-- & that's not on you. Really.

One imperfect, but useful, way to think of PTSD is the damage that was inflicted by the thing, & CPTSD as the damage done when we had to endure the thing alone-- or, worse, while being abandoned, attacked, or mocked by those we should have been able to turn to for support.
