in other news im done with people being rude to me about my interests! i'll be polite and firm but i'm not putting up with any more strays coming for bangtan or shade directed at yoongi. or any of my other passions! if people don't like me they can have less of me (:

anyway i'm going all over the place... i still have a long way to go, but navigating my closest and most important relationships is maybe going to be an eternal, lifelong lesson

and that honestly another person's response is out of your control but you also don't have to respond negatively to an undesirable respond.. it's just information for you to decide what to do with that relationship

(it's funny because i was thinking about the taejin quarrel as well)

my therapist watched a bit of the netflix docu for me and she pointed out "one guy said he was rly tired from his solo work and he was gonna rest and no one gave him hell for it", nudging me to consider it is healthy to be able to say how you feel and there doesn't have to be a pushback

we've both been through friendship breakups where the other person let their resentment fester into contempt and it was incredibly painful and we were glad we didn't let this happen to us

and i was grateful that she really does know me so well that she can feel something’s off and to give space

another thing was she said "it won't happen again" and i said, "but well, one of us is going to disappoint the other at some point, it's normal.." and we talked about how we can deal with that better if that happens again. like we need to talk more honestly about our feelings and not second guess

she immediately apologised and she didn't try to make any excuses. we both knew there were good reasons why she bailed but it didn't change that i felt neglected... we talked about how even just acknowledging it was a promise she couldn't keep would have gone some way to making me feel better

so... i had therapy again yesterday and after that i talked to my friend about this

she *had* felt something was up so she'd arranged for us to have dinner soon after my trip.. she also didn't think we should text about it or she should mention it while i was abroad, which i appreciated

thank you... we talked it out last night and it was good.
