I'm not normally this cynical by Wednesday, am I?

Ah yes, the Hierarchy of Disability. "You must be <points at chart> *this* disabled to warrant assistance."

See, that's interesting, because Ardbeg is 100% a summer whisky in my books.

A lot of people - and they'll be encouraged by radio and print media - will go "Oh, all those ADHD diagnoses are driving up NDIS costs." And ADHD is a much softer target than autism.

I may be being overly cynical.

My reasoning is this: if two statements are made close together, we naturally make the connection between them, even if not explicitly connected.
i) We're targeting the rapid rise in costs associated with neurological disorders in children;
ii) Rates of ADHD diagnoses are skyrocketing amongst teens

That's a fact that won't matter very much in the discussion, I suspect.

I don't envy the government the challenge of trying to apportion to the myriad social services on which Australians rely the funding left over from military spending, fossil fuel subsidies, and tax breaks for investors.

Gets harder and harder every year.

They can range from very smokey/peaty through to hints of seaweed and saltwater; and on to honey and toasted grains. They can be young and quite harsh; and on to well-aged and very, very smooth.

They all have that fire to them.

OK, without trying to foist alcohol choices on you, but you're travelling to the land of the finest whiskies in the world, so...

If you get the opportunity to try some single malt whiskies, you might be surprised at a) the variety of flavours; and b) the different levels of smoothness...

Out of curiosity, how recently have you tried whisky, and do you know whether it was meant to be a 'good' one?

(Lots of people hate the stuff; I mean no judgement)

The conflict against Iran is currently being operated as a stock market manipulation scheme for the benefit of people with inside knowledge about decisions made by the US regime. It sure as hell isn't about regime change or nuclear weapons.

I noticed last week a couple of articles about the 'rising rates of ADHD diagnoses among teens' and the ability to 'Check how your suburb rates' type features. Makes sense now

Given that you don’t like the stuff I didn’t think it mattered, but whisky is what they make in Scotland and Ireland (and Japan and Australia); and whiskey is that American stuff

It’s a great point and an insidious one across tech

Thanks! I hope it reads that way when we're finished!

Time for the ALP backbench to put their electorates before subservience to the Cabinet. Failure to call out neoliberal economic policies, militarism and the plight of working the working class will see the loss of many seats at the next election.
Fix CGT,-ve gearing and housing!

I used my new smartphone exactly like my old wall-mounted landline and honestly, I don't know what all the fuss is about.

The central theme of the book I'm writing is that we've chosen the very worst, most wasteful ways to delivery our standard of living, and that much better options are available.

Big Business are very large recipients of welfare, so they know what they're talking about when it comes to spending public money and not seeing a return.

They just lack self-awareness and/or shame.

I reckon that's the kind of innovative, out-of-the-box thinking the Treasurer would appreciate. Ticks a lot of boxes, too
