"The untapped resources of the North Sea are as nothing compared to the untapped resources of our people." – Jimmy Reid

Today, @johnswinney.bsky.social opened the Energy Transition Skills Hub in Aberdeen, calling £4.5m of Scottish Government funding here "An investment in the people of Aberdeen".

Say "no thanks" to Starmer's Brit-card

Share if you oppose this latest nonsense from the UK Government

I am opposed to mandatory digital ID - people should be able to go about their daily lives without such infringements.

That aside, by calling it BritCard, the Prime Minister seems to be attempting to force every Scot to declare ourselves British.

I am a Scot. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Liz Truss is long gone – but her fiscal meltdown still dictates every step Labour makes | Max Mosley A jittery No 10 now seeks the market’s approval for everything. The result? Cruel cuts and a fear of desperately needed public spending, says economist Max Mosley

Us as voters can wait up to five years for a chance to change the UK Government, the 'markets' can get rid of a Prime Minister in less than 50 days.

The most overlooked part of Liz Truss's legacy is how it shifted power from ballots to billionaires.

A great day in Ellon with Nestrans (North East Scotland Transport Partnership)!

We saw the work done at Ellon Wheel Park, Ellon Park & Ride and the Formartine and Buchan Way, spoke with Ythan Cycle Club, got a shot on some adaptive bikes, and then I chaired today's meeting in Formartine House.

In Peterhead today with @jackiedunbarsnp.bsky.social
and Alan Petrie (on behalf of @karenadamsnp.bsky.social)

Some great opening remarks from Seamus Logan MP

Peterhead is a cornerstone of the North East's energy industry and it has a key role to play in our region's energy transition

Successive UK Governments have let children go hungry under the guise of "balancing the books"

But there's no better investment than giving children the best start in life

That's why @snp.org is scrapping the two-child cap

We're using what powers we have to create a better future for Scotland

Scotland already produces more than enough energy for our needs.

Folk are paying fortunes for energy to subsidise the rest of the UK.

Meanwhile, if Labour want energy jobs in Scotland, why are they overseeing hundreds of jobs being lost in the North East every single week?

Folk who are renting privately already have to pay more to live in their homes, they shouldn't need to pay more to keep those homes warm too!

George Street/Harbour is the only ward in Scotland where the majority of people live in the private rented sector, so this could make a big difference in our community.
