The other new play was Tea Garden, the last of the new Tomas Holek games I had yet to try, and I've been very excited to finally do so, but was waiting for the Puerh expansion for the solo mode. Only played with the base game stuff for now, but really digging it so far!

Played a couple new to me solo games this week, starting with the closed drafting game Moon from @sinisterfish.bsky.social Really enjoying the combination of closed drafting and engine building in this one, and the theme of this one is fun too.
Need any solo preview coverage?
New pretties came today! Loving how the two covers fit together like this.
Can't wait to try Inkwell (and not shown here, but very excited for DUST as well!)
We're having a moving sale! The "Coincidence collection" 3-pack of our tabletop games, which includes the new Zach Attack! Scratch 'n Solve Puzzle Pack, is now 33% off from our website:

If you live in the U.S. that's free shipping, and then some!
Played my first game of Escape from Sargasso: Reborn. Another random dice chucker from these guys, but I felt like this one has more interesting decisions than Dorasure, and I love the theming of it and the fun characters. Expansions please!
Went to a board game night with my son tonight. Started off with him crushing me in a game if Meeple Circus after I chose the card that forced me to build only with my non-dominant hand and also without using my thumb...
Got the Mistborn deckbuilding game to the table today for my first solo play on the intro level. Need to play more, but I'm digging what I've seen so far. Was only one turn away from a huge combo to kill the Lord Ruler, but got taken out by a huge attack of theirs instead...
Also snagged this wacky dice chucker from Japan. It's basically a scifi twist on their other game Dorasure, which is a somewhat mindless dice chucking adventure game that my son and I have enjoyed quite a bit.
Got this as a surprise review copy today. Don't particularly love unsolicited review copies, but a new version of Three Sisters with a campaign added to it seems pretty cool, and it's a game I've been curious about for a while.
Have already played and loved Short Zoot Suit on the Tricktakers Table app, which is what pushed me to grab a copy.
Whoops, I did a thing... @tricktaking.bsky.social @saibep.bsky.social Very excited to get it played, no off to find some people to play with me!
Really digging what I've seen so far, it's kind of worker placement by way way of blind bidding, area control plus a nice helping of resource management and engine building, plus the solo is a very smooth target score solo that forces tactical decisions quite a bit. Excited to play more of this one!
Newest game on the review pile, Compania! And of course I had to set it up right away and dig into it. Think I may have actually played one too many rounds, but I pulled out a win with 626 points!
Got in my first few solo plays of Flockers today, the newest game from OddBird (publisher of Feudum and Fled), coming to crowdfunding next month. It's a card based race game with an interesting V shaped tableau that you use to control the birds' flight but also that you need to keep from filling up.
Picked up a copy of Meeple Circus in a trade and got it to the table today with my kids. This one is definitely gonna stick around for a while, we had a great time with it!
Played my first solo game of Covenant today, pulling out a win 98-79, though it's very likely I did things slightly wrong somewhere, lol. In any case, had a blast with it and instantly set it back up and played another 2/3 of a game that I'll get back to tomorrow. Excited to play more of this one!
Played some games today, first a solo game of Railroad Tiles with the Forest expansion, which continues to be great, and then my first game of Sagrada since 2021 (first ever with the new edition) with my students, and yeah, still enjoy that one quite a bit as well!
New arrivals today, very excited for both!
Brought out Rallyman GT to play with my son and his friend today. They both really enjoyed it, so expect it'll get even more plays and I may need to track down some more content for it.
New video up on the channel! This time I took a look at the solo mode of the small box deckbuilding race game, Fliptoons, from @thunderworksgames.bsky.social !

SPONSORED @nobleknightgames.bsky.social just launched an Asmodee MAP sale, worth a look for some nice deals on Asmodee games. While you're there, they've also got a penny sale running at the same time, so you can grab some cheap stuff too!

Newest acquisition! Picked this up to use as part of my "unit" on dice in my after school game mechanisms and design class, to show off dice drafting. Have been using Shelfie Stacker, which I still enjoy, but this is sort of the OG and I couldn't pass up a shiny new version!
Had a chance to go to the Level Up Retreat in Woodbridge, NJ last Friday with my son and played a bunch of games there. Have a watch to see more about my time there!

Played two more games of @kidstablebg.bsky.social Lairs with my son today (also opening and playing with the first box and then opening the first envelope for next time), and yeah, this game is brilliant! That said, you definitely need the adventure pack or it could get repetitive before long.
Yeah, wow. I saved a bit of money on travel by driving I think, and I'm super lucky because my sister lives right across the bridge so I can crash with her and take the train to the convention center everyday.
How was Thiefdom?
