we all know I have no life, so:
Profile view of a male Labrador retriever mix looking out a screen window. His fur is fluffy and soft-looking.
Jack is extra-poofy after his bath today.
I kind of want to put the see-through snail in EscarGoGoGo!! somehow...
[Photo of the Week] Meet Clostophis udayaditinus, a translucent microsnail found only on one Cambodian hill. Less than 2 millimeters long, it represents the unique biodiversity of underexplored karst landscapes.

For those who have asked, you *can* purchase Legend of the River King directly from Boss Fight Books. The May "release date" refers to when Simon & Schuster is ready to distribute it.
Today’s Daily Cartoon, by Tom Toro.
For example, Don Quixote – which I read in high school and loved – was far more meaningful in adulthood, after I'd experienced what it was like to live with relatives needing memory care.
Yeah, I had the issue with "wasting time" for a while, too. But once you experience how different a work of art feels when you revisit it throughout your life, it will disabuse you of that notion.
Oh, man! @charlottereber.com with the big-league excerpt. Read it, and then buy the book!
Basically, since I figure I'll drive myself crazy trying to be 18-22 again, I'm trying to lean into the hand I've been dealt, and see what comes of that.
FWIW, my solution to this problem (because my retention has also gone to hell) is to embrace going deep rather than wide. I still read/watch/play new things, but I've committed to revisiting a smaller group of texts more frequently so that they stay with me.
just forgot the term "sheet music" and my brain kept being like "do you mean 'music recipe'?"
Occasionally need to repost this Astro Boy panel where Dr. Ochanomizu's butt looks like the Bernie Sanders logo.
"Try Pilotwings 64!" Have you attempted a single hang glider level?
I keep telling myself I'm going to relax with a Nintendo 64 game at night, but I keep forgetting that console has no chill.
They probably have to limit it to one @ashlikeadragon.bsky.social piece, or else she'll end up occupying an entire issue by herself!
Hell yeah! Some love for @deletedsavesmag.bsky.social and the world's greatest fishing RPG!
No shame in that. The stakes can feel high!
Forgive me if this is obvious, but... Discuss the things seen at the exhibition as you encounter them? Learning how the materials resonate with each of you intellectually or emotionally is a decent conversation topic, and will give you a better read on one another while helping with info retention.
Fascinating...

The épée one is not going to be nearly as interesting, lol. (Said with love as a former épée.)
Help a trans director out and throw some money toward this indie horror film!
Busy for the next ~3 hours, but can review it afterward, provided that fits your timeframe.
The running up the steps scene from Rocky, but it's a penguin, and it takes four and a half hours.
I'll simply say again that for Shlaes to resurface in The Economist at this moment is an indicator of an ambient concern that Rooseveltian policies and politics are increasingly likely. The thing about the New Deal is, it was *immensely popular.* That's terrifying to certain people
it was perhaps my naïve hope that this was going to be a short lived account when I started it.
