Been a good holiday for movies so far: Wake Up Dead Man last night (7/10), Black Bag this afternoon (8/10), and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning tonight (9/10).
Still on the list are Fantastic Four, Superman, One Battle After Another, and whatever else I find in HMV.
I’ve started out on Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but also have Days Gone Remastered downloaded. Anything else I should check out? My last time in PlayStation land was with an OG PS4 which gave up on life about halfway through that generation.
Made the jump on Saturday and traded my XBox + stack of games and controllers over to a PS5.
Couldn’t justify the price increase on Game Pass, and PS Plus comes in much cheaper and includes a bunch of games yet doesn’t seem as widely talked about.
I always prefer visiting their stores in person anyway, quite often discover either films or music I might miss otherwise.
I can understand the overall objective of limiting harmful content, but the implementation and roll-out is where the problem lies in my opinion.
Trusting verification to third party for-profit companies is one of the many problems in my eyes.

After experimenting with the developer beta in person for a little while this morning, I think it’s actually worse in person in many ways.
The best looking app visually is actually Find My, almost every other one I looked at has had a downgrade.
Not sure what to think of the new Liquid Glass look. Initial impressions from screenshots/videos aren’t great, but I guess it may feel better hands-on (and will almost certainly receive more polish between now and release).

Perfect weekend so far. Watched Conclave last night (yet another brilliant performance by Ralph Fiennes), and then spent today enjoying the sunny weather with a wander through the woods.

Watched Fly Me To The Moon last night. Not seen much about it apart from the trailer, which unfortunately gave a bit too much story away.
Quite a fun watch though, and pretty good production values. Worth watching if you’ve got Apple TV+.
