A tortoiseshell cat sleeping on my denim-clad leg and blue blanket. The photo is slightly pink toned because I have fancy smart LED light strips.
Eepy Kugelprinzessin. Pinkish because of lights. Eepy because of cat.

How...beige.
Yes!
Classico is a fantastic "base". I'm particularly fond of the sausage, but really anything is good.
Naomi! The perfect princess!
I know more than one person who is missing parts of their fingers from kitchen incidents. I am slightly paranoid about mandolines. ;-)
I bought a cut-resistant glove for my mandolining. Mostly I use it when I'm doing a group meal and therefore cooking for eight + people at a time. Definitely an effort saver, if not a time saver.
I am slowly getting to the point of being able to redo my bedroom. The walls will be deep blue with gold glitter, because it is my bedroom and dammit I want lapis walls.
The room that is currently the library and my art space is bubblegum pink, because a friend who stayed with us while she went to college wanted "something bright." It's cheap paneling so really I consider it an improvement.
I also have a piss terrorist. A caveat - UV lights don't pick up urine well on cloth that I've found, plus some fibers will light up all by themselves. I like the ACTIVE brand laundry detergent these days.
A brown lynx point cat with blue eyes loafed on a red couch with his paws draped over the edge of the cushion.
Like Amir, who may or may not have Siamese in him, we have no idea. But he's a beautiful boy and has very similar personality and temperament to our previous seal point boy (who also was standard DSH as far as we know).
Many of them breed in Minneapolis - they're just very shy usually.
They look fine. They look like they get used. :-)
Yep. Bourbon gets 2 ice cubes, but Scotch is neat. Maybe with a couple drops of water depending on the brand.
UGH. Who was the genius who thought that making this duffel bag out of sunbrella was a good idea?
Right. That was Past Me. Past Me was an idiot.
TIL that Bambi is Jewish...
Wild turkeys 100% look like velociraptors.
OOOOOOOH
Him so hamsome!
Pretty sure he's entirely made up of fur and opinions.
You don't need a spinny thing, you can put the plate on an inverted cake pan to elevate it. Also, waxed paper or parchment to keep the mess off the plate. Note that Ina Garten did NOT invent this, we were doing this in the 90s and probably earlier : www.thekitchn.com/parchment-pa...
Bro crows! If we had them around here I know that's what we'd end up calling them.
It probably means natural egg predators stay away!
The beer pong might help keep birders away...
One of our clients is in NOLA and I have so far avoided talking to him about food when he calls, because it will just make me sad.
That said, I have friends who just moved there because he's now teaching at Tulane, so I'll have to go visit...
I am allergic to spinach. I cannot eat spanikopita anymore. Or saag paneer. This saddens me tremendously.
Is it wrong of me to contemplate putting up a hawk perch in my yard to encourage red tailed hawks to come deal with the squirrels?
I might have to get one of those for the cats... They have a cat hammock but it has an annoying tendency to come apart.
Yes, exactly.
A moment of Clarence*.
*he is very chill. I was about 3 feet away. We were so close, I felt he needed a name so we could be properly introduced.
