She an incredible actress and, seemingly, a really fine person.
Her recent documentary “Never Look Away,” about photojournalist Margaret Moth is very good.
Girl. We don’t want to hear from you. NOTHING CAN MAKE UP FOR YOUR PAST GOONERY.
I can’t speak to how many authors use it (the authors I know are in the “revulsion” camp), but nobody is forced to lie about it, that’s silly. You might be “forced to lie about it” in order to do it and attempt to avoid the consequences, but the same could be said for straight-up plagiarism.
Wow… I didn’t think it was possible to feel speechless anymore…

The criticism of Audi Crooks has absolutely nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with the belief that larger bodies deserve to be ridiculed and punished
Cars are just phones, now.
Also, frito pie is unbeatable!
This map can’t even spell Ambrosia, much less judge it. And now all I want is some pear salad. These people don’t know what’s good.
people joke about what experiencing even the banalities of modern society would do to a medieval peasant, but here's a German tourist from a small farming village who says some Times Square salsa verde physically incapacitated him gothamist.com/food/theres-...
I finally lost my shit about so-called AIs, LLMs, enshittification & everything fucking evil that @officialgrammarly.bsky.social is doing. I'm fucking furious, and not just about what 1 company has done. An open letter to Grammarly & the rest of the LLM hype machine www.moryan.com/an-open-lett...

I've taken the paywall off this piece I wrote about the wonderful art my mum and dad have been making in their 60s and 70s, which is also about the general (underacknowledged) concept of late-blooming creativity. I hope a few of you might find a moment to read it: www.tom-cox.com/the-magic-ro...
Has Julie K Brown won a Pulitzer?
Cause she needs to win a Pulitzer

The reverse alchemy of turning gold into tin in the amount of time it takes a fascist to chug a beer.
This is true in rougly the same sense that a guy on the subway reeking of urine, screaming, and waving a knife around is “feared.”
It’s great (derogatory) that you can work very hard to find out something incredibly important, and the main response you will get is a derisive “Gee, I’m shocked.”
Somebody has to ACTUALLY DO THIS WORK! You can’t pursue justice by going “Your honor: I mean, duh.”
How much longer?
It’s the doubling down of it all that hurts so bad. Like, doesn’t anyone even listen to the preacher story about the two boats and the helicopter?
Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes “I love struggling, it makes me feel alive” is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization
I have channeled all the rage and sorrow I've accumulated over a decade of working in shelters into a poem - "My Hope For You" - that is out now in the latest issue of @templeinacity.bsky.social

The film WHITE NIGHTS should be a Broadway musical. Hell, it could be a jukebox based on its own soundtrack, which is 100 percent bangers end-to-end. “Separate Lives?!” Are you kidding me? This is my best idea, ever.
I MADE myself eat them when my gallbladder started fritzing out. Apparently, they’re good for thinning bile! 😬 They saved me from many attacks.
Despairing of Dawson defined my career (and found me a bestie for the ages, not for nothing). I owe the Beek a lot, and I hope he's found rest.
Ding-Dong, the Witch is Dead
ALSO: in re: Epstein, why does NO ONE talk about his historical entanglement with Bill Barr and what that came to mean? I know there are so many puzzle pieces to how we got here, but some of them have been so glaringly obvious all along.
