I think that's actually more a legitimate complaint than what the op made. It's not weird or discriminatory to root for your home team however celebrating America right now (as an American) is not something I am inclined to do.

I really don't even understand the complaint here? They're rooting for their HOME TEAM. It actually would be discriminatory to say a person couldn't root for their home team, because some of the players aren't originally from America.

It's telling that the solution to "the Left refuses to vote blue no matter who" is never to promote more Leftist candidates. If you can't make the Left fall in line, but the Center has the party discipline to "put party first" then it seems the "pragmatist" candidate is, by default, the Leftist.
