I was rereading a Pern fic earlier and going 'I wish I could have a fire lizard', only to immediately hear the thunder of paws as the cats chased each other upstairs and realised I can barely cope with pets that DON'T fly plus instantly teleport and also occasionally breathe fire.

Nova has slept for days pretending to be well behaved while I painted, only to lull me into false security last night when I let him out at 9:45pm because I felt bad for ignoring him (his curfew is ten) and he came back at... 1:30am.

Now he's yelling because I wouldn't let him out at 10pm 😑

It’s nice to have everything painted but also it’s really really nice to not be walking on loud plastic everywhere. 😅

Done. I was going to do a second coat of Peel Stop on the stairs while the plastic was down but the first one took like two hours (so many spindles!!!) and I’m hungry and tired so I can just do it before I paint it, after I work out if the handrail can be sanded back to wood.

Yes. 😭 The last two sets of people who owned mine didn’t understand design (see: all white kitchen, white floor, white cupboards, white worktop, white backsplash 💀) and after spending weeks fixing their attempts at painting, I question their sentience too.

The council sent me a letter yesterday demanding to know if I still deserve my single person 25% discount (which should be 50%). Today they failed to collect the black bins for the first time the collection moved from two weeks to three. I’m judging.

Decided trying to paint neat skirting boards when tired is a recipe for rage so I showered and ordered a pizza instead. One more day. 😩🤞🏻

But anyway, there’s just skirting boards left and part of me really really wants to eat tea and then try to do them tonight so I can be DONE. (except for the stair rails which is a whole other problem)

Painting over the insipid tea colour on the downstairs walls with the weird white-to-grey colour change paint was fine yesterday.

Painting over the very white upstairs walls with it today is proving… troublesome. We’re in a Rimmer ‘ocean grey/military grey’ situation until it dries visible.

I want a print for my gallery wall that says ‘Turns out this is my circus and these are my monkeys’ but every one I can find reverses it to say ‘these are my monkeys and this is my circus’. The saying is ‘not my circus, not my monkeys’! You can’t switch it, it reads weird!

Finally got around to watching the Practical Magic 2 trailer and oh wow was that not the right vibe for me when it comes to Practical Magic. Not even close.

As soon as I painted part of my house grey, Instagram decided to show me every pretty pastel influencer house in existence. I just wanted a neutral backdrop for a fun gallery wall, c'mon. 😭

I don't even know if chatgpt is an app or is it on the browser or what, I have never even felt the need to find out where AI is and how to use it, it's so little of interest to me. I love creating! So why would I let someone else come eat my steak and fuck my wife etc!?

I'm trying to keep the cats off the plastic as much as possible because it's useless if it's clawed to shreds but Padmé's little feet on it make such a delightful pattering noise.
