Apple debuts 50th anniversary exhibit at Apple Park with iconic products and photography This story is part of 9to5Mac’s series celebrating Apple’s 50th anniversary. Apple often likes to say that it isn’t a nostalgic company, but they’ve gone all out to celebrate their 50th birthday. The company recently opened an exhibition on campus displaying some of their most iconic products from over the years alongside photographs of memorable moments. There’s even a large screen that plays iconic ads and keynote moments like the 1984 commercial and the opening of the Steve Jobs theater. Thanks to Meriam Al Sultan on X, we all can get a look at the exhibit. more…

TBPN is the future of tech media. I recently met a bunch of young tech folks who had never heard of mainstream publications or have stopped reading them entirely, but all watch TBPN. OpenAI buying it is brilliant. But who knows how it changes things.

Been testing @surf.social for well over a year. While it may be an adjustment for users of Bluesky or Mastodon on their own, it makes using the fediverse and atmosphere way easier and more discoverable. It’s great for keeping up with publications and writers too. Congrats @mmccue.bsky.social & team!

Revisiting Steve Jobs’s most important lesson on Apple’s 50th anniversary This story is part of 9to5mac’s series celebrating Apple’s 50th anniversary. In 1994 Steve Jobs sat down with the Santa Clara Valley Historical Association for what I imagined they expected to be a simple interview. It was anything but. In a matter of a few minutes the Apple co-founder shared some of the most profound advice I have ever heard anyone in a position of power give. more…

Fifty years ago today, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne incorporated Apple Computer. A lot of folks are going to find themselves thinking about a company today. That’s great, I’m one of them, but the best way to celebrate Apple and its contributions to society is to make something wonderful yourself. After all, that was what Steve Jobs believed. more…

There’s something poetic about the Mac Pro being discontinued as the MacBook Neo takes off like a rocket.

I remember going with my dad to buy the original Mac Pro in 2006. They had to wheel it out to the car. End of an era.
