Don’t feel bad, mate. We live in a world where you can’t say Dutch managers are 💩 , but there hasn’t been a decent Dutch manager globally since Rijkaard 18 years ago.
Low fitness, low intensity, lacking tactical nuance, lacking motivation.

We are so soft.

Yeah the squad realized this at forest.
We are half way through march. There’s no insinuation of nothing. You are what you are at this point.
My understanding from an article I read last month discussed that they felt the training and fitness regime was to intense last year and that slot and Hughes made changes last offseason to reduce training and fitness based activities from Klopps standards. . We’ve lacked spark and fitness all season
Ricochets off Gapko while he is standing in a position impossible for him to get to during the normal run of play.
In the end, I think it’s gonna cost all three of them their jobs
What is he supposed to do? He doesn’t have any say on player acquisitions that was made crystal clear. What tactics is he supposed to use? He won a 🏆 with a system of players his TD gutted. They bought no one to back him at Xmas. I’m sure he had a say in some of this, but his TD screwed him.
The more I got frustrated with slot, the more I became frustrated with his tactics the more I started to focus on Hughes. wtf is Arne supposed to do when his TD sells his only 2 pressing fwds and doesn’t replace them. Then sells the kids behind them who would fill depth? Not sign a def?
To be fair, signing the youngest giant player in serie A isn’t some stroke of scouting front office brilliance
The crystal palace-ification
Definitely started occurring to me.
No multi club- Edwards
Gutting the depth built from Klopp for personal ego and personal vision instead of enhancing where we were- Hughes
Poor tactics, fitness and motivation- slot.
FWIW, I’m guessing that post Epstein war, these sovereign wealth funds will be forced to use those assets to reinvest back into domestic rather than places like city and psg. Liv golf done, Newcastle project are signs on the wall.
It’s amazing what 30 years of supporting a club will teach you
Yeah, I hate it for him. It’s not the same sport and the surgery has changed. Hopefully he can find where he was when he returns.
Whatever we changed in fitness? We fired the wrong people.
The surgery is a lot better than it was but Kobe lost his explosiveness and jumping when his Achilles went
I will say that theres a pretty strong argument to be made that Richard Hughes is the fraud and Arne is just kind of caught in it. If he stays its gonna be because he didn’t decide anything when it came to this squad and now they can’t really blame him because of the squad sucks bc it’s Hughes squad
It should’ve been done right after we won champions league when if we would’ve spent 150 million on midfielders we would’ve been dominant for the next five years. We didn’t we sat. It’s been 3 yrs and we still haven’t replaced fabs. There are answers to your rhetorical questions.
It’s kind of a dickhead move to want us to not make CL and actively want to lose supporters.
I don’t think “if we play mediocre football and no one wants to watch it. We can go back to what we were.” is the take you really wanna take.
Ffs
It makes me wanna tear my hair out that they would gut the youth the kids that came up from 5-8 yrs old the 15 yr olds who came up and are finally here. Just throw away all our pressing high energy forwards…
For what? Why?
Because Arne could win with them?
Because dick needed to be a genius?
Ffs
and you hire an executive from Bournemouth and a manager from the Netherlands and they tell you to gut the squad so they can put their stamp on the club, and you listen to them…
If you had the best manager in the world for a decade who can keep a squad at top fitness and build a squad capable of top fitness like no other manager in decades,

It takes a lot of effort to get a trophy winning squad.
He ran off or sold the only 2 closing pressing forwards in the squad. Left himself with a Dutch traffic cone, a 33 yr old coming off tons of minutes and 2 pieces of fresh meat that had to hit the ground hot. And we could have used Doak and Elliot this year while we are on rio as the sole option.
It shows.
Did you ever catch the article that talked about how at the end of last season they evaluated their training & fitness regiment and thought Klopp ran them too hard & made peak fitness too much of a concern to the point of increasing injuries so Arne and the execs reduced fitness & training levels?
Why can a 22 year-old homegrown from the academy get 45 minutes in the first game of last season to prove who he was and that wasn’t good enough and he never got another chance again, Gapko can suck for 3 months solid and start every match for those 3 months? There’s no accountability this year.
He lost 9 of 12 at one point. I think there’s a lot of people in this community with that kind of talent could’ve lost 8 of 12.
Solid defence…
