Get out today before RAIN arrives tomorrow, Bay Area! Most rain early Monday will be scattered and light in nature, but by Monday night widespread heavy downpours will move overhead. More waves of scattered rain and storms are likely Tuesday before drying out by the late week. @kpixtv.bsky.social

I hope you can all get out and about this weekend to soak up some sunshine and all the beauty that is the Bay Area...but when will you have to grab that umbrella again???
A large storm will move over the area Monday - Wednesday next week, bringing widespread rain. @kpixtv.bsky.social
Heads up Bay Area...get ready for more rain!!👀🌧️ But there's some uncertainty on exactly when it will arrive.
This weekend will be dry and warm, before rain chances return late Sunday...but there's a better potential for wet weather Monday-Tuesday. Stay up to date as we fine tune the forecast!
HOW much snow and rain did we see this past weekend across California and the Sierra?!
Anywhere from 2-4 FEET of snow, and anywhere from 1-3" of rain across most of the Bay Area! Santa Cruz Mtns saw 3-4+", while San Jose only saw 0.73". Beneficial moisture all around! @kpixtv.bsky.social
A DOUBLE RAINBOW caught live on our roof camera during the @kpixtv.bsky.social news at 6 PM😍🌈
Scattered showers will become isolated tonight, drying out into Monday with a lot more sunshine on the way this week! Temperatures will continue to warm as dry air sticks around all this upcoming week.
BAY AREA - do you have plans tonight?
A powerful storm system is going to bring widespread heavy downpours, gusty winds, and maybe even some lightning along a cold front this evening. Secure any loose outdoor objects now, and keep an umbrella handy - you're going to need it! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Today will be the warmest and sunniest day this week, so get outside and enjoy Bay Area!
Tomorrow will be a bit cooler and cloudier with isolated showers, mainly across the North Bay. Rain, and even some storms, will arrive Friday and continue into the weekend. Get ready for a big cool down too!
Rain is on the way later this week and this weekend, Bay Area!
A large cutoff low is currently swirling offshore, expected to impact California starting Thursday. Storms are possible into Friday. A second storm will push in this weekend, keeping rain chances going through Sunday.
A time-lapse view of tonight's sunset over downtown San Francisco and the Golden Gate:
Waves of light, scattered showers will move across the Bay Area once again Wednesday afternoon so keep the umbrella and rain jacket handy!
But appreciate the cooler, wetter weather while it lasts because sunshine and another heat up returns just in time for the weekend! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Is the weather going to create any issues for the Artemis 2 launch tomorrow?!
Luckily, during the two hour launch window starting at 6:24 PM ET, it should be dry! Fingers crossed for a perfect launch, it doesn't look like the weather should create any major issues🤞 @kpixtv.bsky.social
Who's ready to see more home runs during the MLB season?!
Did you know that warmer temperatures actually make it easier for a baseball to fly through the air? I'll break down the science/physics behind weather and baseball in this week's Zooming around with Zoe! @kpixtv.bsky.social
After a hot Sunday, get ready for a cool down Bay Area!
For the first time since early March, highs will be at/below average. Tues-Thurs will be the coolest, cloudiest, and breeziest days with the slight chance for light rain mainly Wed PM. Warmer/drier again by next weekend! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Story time: giggles on live TV edition
If you know me, you know I love a good dad joke. I thought I had enough time to tell a joke before realizing there was only 10 seconds left in the show...so this was me quickly trying to pivot😅
Hopefully you get some giggles from it too!
Are you heading to the Yankees vs Giants game today?! Make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water, especially if your seats are in the direct sun!
High pressure won't dominate for much longer...cooler, cloudier, windier, and potentially wetter weather returns next week!
The gray whales are still hanging around in the Bay!🐳
There were two right in front of the SF Yacht Club and wave organ - a BIG one and a smaller one that spouted on and off for about 10 minutes! I love living here #sanfrancisco #bayarea
Who is ready for cooler weather!? It's been HOT in the Bay Area for the past week, and it's going to stay well above average through the weekend.
Luckily, by next week, cooler and wetter weather will return across California. Enjoy the rest of this early dose of summer heat! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Calling all Bay Area whale watchers/enthusiasts! If you live in San Francisco, you don't have to go far to see whales today...
There has been a couple Gray whales hanging out and spouting right next to Crissy Field Beach the past few days🐳 Head on over to see them for yourself! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Happy Saturday - and happy end to this historic March heat wave, Bay Area!
It's still going to be warm this weekend, don't get me wrong, but at least we aren't going to be feeling all time record hot March temperatures. Head to the coast if you really want to beat the heat. @kpixtv.bsky.social
Over 100 locations west of the Mississippi River will be breaking, if not smashing daily high temperature records this afternoon...and then again tomorrow🥵
The most dangerous heat is across NV/CA/AZ where 100°+ highs are likely through Sunday...happy first days of spring🙃 @kpixtv.bsky.social
Finding ways to beat this insane heat in San Francisco in one of the best ways possible…
Tried e-foiling today, and got into the Bay for the first time! Plus we saw WHALES super close to shore. I’ll post more videos in a bit. What an incredible day, I am so grateful🤩🤯
I was a professor of synoptic meteorology, so I love the science behind it all! But I only have ~2-3 minutes for my entire forecast, so it’s not enough time to explain what the Coriolis force and convection is…I wish I had all the time in the world to talk science, but people need the forecast too.
I'm sure you've heard meteorologists talking about high pressure...but have you ever really understood it???
High pressure causes sinking air. Air that sinks towards the ground compresses. Compressing air naturally heats it up. Make sense?
When high pressure gets stuck in place, we get heat waves!
Almost every part of the Bay Area is going to tie or break all time record high temperatures for the month of March.
It's never been this hot for this prolonged period of time this early in the year. Find ways to beat the heat before a 'cool down' moves in by the weekend. @kpixtv.bsky.social
From San Francisco to Oakland, Redwood City to Santa Rosa daily high temperature records were broken this afternoon once again. More records will likely be broken tomorrow, and again Thursday, and again Friday...find ways to beat the heat because it's sticking around all week. @kpixtv.bsky.social
It’s not just daily record highs being broken, but the hottest temperatures EVER felt in the month of March…and multiple days in a row of it🥵
This heat wave will stick around through Friday, gradually cooling down into the weekend. Find ways to beat the heat until then! @kpixtv.bsky.social
Who needs a giggle to finish off the weekend?!
After the morning news is wrapped up, I record weather hits to go on the website. Thank goodness, this blooper wasn't on live television😅
I feel like it's harder to speak when it's a recording vs when I'm live! Anybody else?! @kpixtv.bsky.social
WHY is there going be a heat wave across the West Coast this week?
I'm sure you've heard me say the term 'high pressure' before...but do you actually know what that means? And why it's bringing us near to record breaking heat for March? Check out this week's Zoomin' with Zoe to find out!
Spring doesn't start until March 20th, but it's going to feel a lot more like summer over the next week across the West🔥
It's the first time the NWS Bay Area has EVER issued a Heat Advisory in the month of March...and it's going to last all week. Find ways to beat the heat! @kpixtv.bsky.social
It's not only Pi Day (3.14) but also Dress for STEM day! We wear purple to encourage young girls and women to get into science, technology, engineering, and math related fields! Females only make up 27-29% of STEM related jobs and we need more smart, capable ladies to join in on the fun!
