87 Topps was when I started collecting. Always liked Tony Phillips.
Picked up a vinyl copy of that record a few years ago, it’s an amazing album.
A popular understanding of how it ends according to the Bible has the world being destroyed, but the truth is it will be remade.
@wxpnfm.bsky.social Thanks for the Fairport Convention play this morning, just turn it up and let Sandy Denny's voice wash over you.
Some of my favorites: side one, Steve Miller Band, Book of Dreams
Side three, LCD Soundsystem, American Dream
Side one, The Beatles, The Beatles (White Album)
Still one of my favorite movies.
I was 10, I’ve been waiting a long time to celebrate again.
Heard Rick Nielsen in an interview say how the band followed the rock band formula of two good looking guys and two weird looking guys.
Ya’ll haven’t watched many Bears games, have you?
#XPNcountdown My dad bought Joplin's Kozmic Blues album based on liking her verion of Me and Bobby McGee. Let's say it was not what he expected to end up and not the type of music he liked. Fortunately he didn't trash the album and I now have it.
#XPNcountdown Maybe someone else already found this, but a station in Colorado did 850 songs last year. coloradosound.org/top-850-cove...
The Bobs made some quality covers.
#XPNcountdown Just surprised there has been no Melanie so far, does this mean she hasn't appeared yet?
#XPNcountdown I was wondering if any more of my picks would show up, I think Pet Shop Boys doing Always On My Mind might be the last one I see from my list.
#XPNcountdown Is anyone tracking how many Burt Bacharach/Hal David tunes have been in the countdown?
#XPNcountdown A few years back I heard the Status Quo version of this song and thought it could be arranged with a violin replacing the guitar riff. Then I searched the song and found the Camper Van Beethoven which I must have heard when it came out and had rattling around in my brain unconsciously.
I always knew James Taylor was devil music!
#XPNcountdown Ah, Sixpence on a Friday afternoon, so nice!
As someone who listened to DC Talk, and still does on occasion, they've got some bangers. Yes, this one is ridiculous and aggressively 90s.
#XPNcountdown I was not expecting DC Talk on here, this still kicks ass.
#XPNcountdown Just when you think an original is already a perfect record, along comes Al Green singing Everybody Hurts.
#XPNcountdown The Cardigans doing Iron Man, this is fantastic! Now did Black Sabbath cover Love Fool?
#XPNcountdown No one sings the word "on" quite like Robert Palmer. How many syllables can a two-letter, one-syllable word have?
#XPNcountdown I want this to be the only version of Creep I ever hear again in my life, Prince was a master of his craft.
#XPNcountdown My top ten in no particular order, I don't remember how I ranked them:
#XPNcountdown How many more bands are we going to get with "soup" in their name?
#XPNcountdown YES! Weird Al made the Countdown!
#XPNcountdown That version of "Every Little Thing . . ." was making me cry, what an amazing cover!
Picked up some vinyl in Greece last summer, one had a few pieces of paper with notes all over them. My Greek isn’t great, so I don’t know what it says. I haven’t tried the Google translate thing yet.
