These data raise important questions about sex-specific antiplatelet strategies in aneurysm management—especially given women’s higher rupture risk at smaller diameters.

This study shows how AI tools like GPT-4 can transform EHR analysis and precision medicine.

Main findings:

✅ Platelet counts were significantly lower in AAA and TAA patients.

✅ Aspirin had no effect on TAA or male AAA progression.

‼️BUT: In women with small AAAs (<50mm), aspirin accelerated aneurysm growth.

We developed a GPT-4 powered NLP tool to extract aortic diameter measurements from 13 years of radiology reports—an AI-first in aneurysm research.

Using this dataset, we examined how aspirin affects AAA and TAA growth across 443 patients with serial imaging.
