Given the day that's in it, I tried out the pastamarkers python package (github.com/LR-inaf/past...), which was initially published as part of an April Fool's tradition. It contains an impressive variety of pasta-shaped markers as well as sauce-themed colour palettes to use with matplotlib.
This is a waffle chart showing the most popular pasta shapes among a survey of 588 people. The icons are in the shape of the different pasta shapes. Spaghetti is the most popular, followed by penne, fettucine, conchiglie, farfalle and linguini.
Decided to use the #30DayChartChallenge as an excuse to get back into making data viz for fun and to hopefully learn some new tools and packages along the way.
This is my contribution for Day 1 - Part-to-Whole - a waffle chart of pasta preferences! ๐
