Today is National Tea Day

Today celebrates the rich history of tea, popularized in the 17th century by Catherine of Braganza (wife of King Charles II). The date chosen honors Queen Elizabeth II (dob 4/21/1926). Anna Russell, the Duchess of Bedford, introduced the afternoon tea ritual in the 1840s.

Various animals roam the forest quietly at night & are seen in gold/gilt silhouette as the print is embossed on the older book cover. Trees surround them, and a stream flows beside them, as a crescent moon glows above
them.

In 2023, Governor JB Pritzker was joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, advocates, and lawmakers at the Harold Washington Library to sign legislation outlawing book bans in Illinois.

Illinois made history as the first state to outlaw book bans once and for all.

Marginalizing people, ideas, or facts has no place in our state — and they have no place in a democracy.

This National Library Week, we continue our commitment to free thought and free speech.

"Oh God! that one might read the book of fate,
And see the revolution of the times
Make mountains level, and the continent,
Weary of solid firmness, melt itself
Into the sea, and other times to see
The beachy girdle of the
ocean."

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this and all is mended:
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear.

Hath put a spirit of youth in everything,

a close up of a lightning bolt in the sky Alt: A lightning bolt set against the night sky.

Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night,
That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,
And ere a man hath power to say ‘Behold!’
The jaws of darkness do devour it up:
So quick bright things come to confusion.

I was just scrolling and saw Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in your pic. (I'm a huge River Cottage fan.) I'll have to try finding this show. It looks like something I'd enjoy.
