An equally nerve wracking and exhilarating 3 minutes. I think I did okay under the careful supervision of Jack from the @class507.org.uk , who I need to thank once again for the opportunity. I even managed to catch the AWS warning π/ Full video soon. www.class507.org.uk
Had that happen a couple of times to me. Mersey is usually the culprit, they don't accept e tickets so if part of the journey involves MR you have to collect. It's ridiculous in this day and age.
I'm a train driver now π . Big thank you to the @class507.org.uk for the opportunity
Back here again π
Not the main point, but the point I was making.
That's not just a little bit inconvenient it's dangerous and terrifying
The point is, the Uber app is quite sophisticated, but makes mistakes regularly. Drivers can work around and use local knowledge. Robo taxis can't. The UK in part has very complicated, poorly marked roads. So there will be plenty of stranded passengers.
Uber has one of the most sophisticated route finding apps, but it still sends drivers down dead ends, or roads which are closed during certain times. What happens when robo taxis go the wrong way? π¬
Elon Musk reckons we'll all be on a basic living income, but tech billionaires don't want to pay tax and fewer workers means less tax income, so who will pay for said income π€¦
Taxi driving may now be amongst one of the least respected professions, but most drivers provide a vital service beyond driving from point A to point B. 3/3

Good luck getting a robo taxi to aid wheelchair users, secure wheelchairs, or fold and put it in the boot, help octogenarians with their shopping or to and from the door to the car 2/3
I tried the driverless cabs as often as as I could during my Phoenix trip, and can confidently say that from hereon, I will always opt for a robo-taxi over a human driver whenever I can. The experience was transformational. The superiority of the service was immediately apparent, and the experience sold itself to me better than any advert or PR could do. I wish I could take these driverless taxis every time, here in London, and just about everywhere else I go. Jonathan Sacerdoti Spectator

The headline should read "Robo taxis will make public transport even less accessible for many" 1/3
It's beyond me how people think Reform can run a country, when they can't even organise a prize draw π€¦
Bringing back pure TOCA memories from the peak of touring cars π
Set a reminder for tomorrow night at 8pm - I'll be going live to chat to you all, and you know, talk about the big things that have been happening to me!
It'll be great to see you all there!

Dugdale "says she is now βquite scaredβ as a lesbian in Britain".
But respects someone who is largely responsible for people now policing women's spaces and dictating what a woman should look like, thereby making spaces less safe for lesbians or women who dare to look androgynous or masculine.
Sticking with SLR for now. Only just got myself some decent lenses. Budget will probably only stretch to a D750.
Just a D600 for now.
I have updated my #Nikon D5200 #Ebay listing to include 2 lenses. A Sigma 18-50mm and Tamron 70-300. Nice ready to go bundle.

Absolutely. Imagine how many potholes Β£200k would pay for. This machine isn't designed for small potholes that tend to wreck people's cars.
I'm confused by the whole trial arrangement, considering local authorities tend to outsource road repairs, especially larger repairs best suited to the Pothole Pro. But I'm sure Reform councillors know better than highways engineers, who've rejected the machine.
If they sell just 2 of these to Reform local authorities then their "donation" would more than pay for itself. But I can't see why any local authorities should be buying these as road repairs are usually outsourced.
JCB Potehole Pro
This is overkill for the small potholes that most people are worried about. Individual local authorities certainly don't need to own one.
'If we "donate" Β£200k will you insist Reform led local authorities purchase our Β£200k machines, even though they've been rejected by other local authorities' π€
Gutted I couldn't see #Akira on the big screen today π
Apparently some people are triggered by the idea that something they feel strongly about might have historical connections that are problematic. This film is insightful, interesting & above all factual. If you donβt like it, thatβs a you problem.

I know I shouldn't like noisy 'old' diesels, but the Class 67's 12 cylinder 2 stroke EMD engine does make a decent racket
