Also my hot take is just that no editorial direction is necessary at all?? Double notes in choral passages are not that unusual and if you’re Brahms-Intermezzi-competent then you should know what to do with this

I think just a set of parentheses with a lil footnote saying “parentheses added by editor for clarity” would do it
(Also should be obvious but I mean in piano music, used to be a violinist and saw 0s all the time)
Omg how did I not think of that
(Explanation for the 0 in alt text, folks)
Out here working hard when I could have been working smart (using 0 fingers)
This is a Henle Brahms edition! Must be a thing
Photo showing bars 63 and 64 of Brahms 118 2, in which, because a C# is being claimed by both hands, the right hand fingering suggests that the pianist play with finger number zero
Wow first time I’ve seen a 0 used for fingering
Somehow this is peak tuba behavior
I’m not guaranteeing that the symphony is always going to be a $20 deal and I’ve paid my fair share of $200 tix for big acts I was dying to see, but it’s entirely possible to get a symphony ticket for less than the cost of a drink (at LA prices)
I’ve seen $20-$30 ticket specials from both the LA Phil and SF Symphony (not the norm but they do pop up), and smaller orchestras in LA (high cost of living, everything is more expensive than most of the country) charge $0-$20
Muting so I don’t keep getting notifications, everyone please don’t be weird to each other or yourselves in the replies
Bro how is it that I’ve been in halls on and off stage regularly for over 2 decades and never seen vomit while judging from these stories people are just throwing up in concert halls all the time
Ohhh that’s such a good point!
I suspect that he is not, in fact, actually normal
It’s frankly an amazing combination of words that needs to be on shirts and bumper stickers
I DON’T HAVE A NORMIEIST BONE IN MY BODY
I HAVE FREE SPEECH RIGHTS IN THIS COUNTRY
Hate to hand it to this man but “You merely Othered us Normies” is an incredible sentence
Post by mrtoads.bsky.social I'm a "normie". ' I mean, I live with being like all other Whiteys and Males and whatever label lazy thinkers want to use to create an Other category to hate, but "Normie"? Really? You can do better than that.
Finally did the sensible thing and nuclear blocked but this was the original post

It was unacceptable for me to talk about my Normal-American friends that way, I will do better 🙏
But you see he IDENTIFIES as normal therefore I “othered” him when I talked about normal people!!!
I really hope you learn what “othering” actually means one day, and I also sincerely hope that you learn how to talk to other people one day as well
Reporting you to the mods for using the N word (“normal”)
I know I should just block but this is such a “first time being a person” post that I kind of need other people to see it
Guess what everyone, turns out “people who aren’t classical musicians” are a protected class and talking about them is an act of hate! As a woman of color in America this absolutely tracks and makes perfect sense to me!
1) where did I “hate”
2) idk if you’re aware but this platform has character limits and I didn’t have room to say “people who don’t have extensive training or familiarity with classical music”
3) it’s a pretty common term used endearingly, idk what to do if you insist on being offended
???
As a full grown adult, multiple times I’ve gotten annoyed at the people behind me before realizing they were parents of someone on stage, so this is super funny to me
