anyway i think anyone who considers themselves serious about liberatory politics needs to critically examine the concept of intelligence, how it is determined & has been & continues to be used as a justification for racialized eugenics ^u^

i cannot emphasize enough that technology does not make people stupid. that is simply not how brains work. if you are going around saying people are cognitively damaged or degenerating bc of ai or any other tool you are buying into ableist rhetoric

Was wondering why this is raising so many hackles and I realized—games is having this moment. The lack of “good art” means the lack of white art. This is their same rhetoric. I think we’re all mobilized because that strain of racist reactionary vitriol has breached indie comics of all places

It goes back to that Groundings episode I posted on Monday, they talk about this -- the habit of the internet pulling academic theories out of a critical argument framework and turning them into facts. White guilt isn't a fact of life, and it isn't literally a white person feeling guilty.

Since I read that comic I've been pondering the history of "white guilt," which is an academic theory about a hurdle for teaching anti-racism to willing white people, guilt being a roadblock to necessary personal unpacking. It isn't ..... whatever that is

Donate to Support Joan After Silver Sprocket Layoff, organized by Sarah Maloney Hi, my name is Joan Zahra Dark, and my friend Sarah Maloney has graciously set… Sarah Maloney needs your support for Support Joan After Silver Sprocket Layoff

Hey y'all, in light of being suddenly laid off, I've got a emergency fund going while I try and figure out next steps.

I know things are tough for a lot of people right now but if you can afford to share or boost this, it would truly mean a lot!
