Jamie Alvey and Cedric Gegel as Franny and Paul in The Second Circle
Jamie and Cedric behind the scenes
Not that we haven’t shared it before , but I think it’s apt to share the wide of the stills that Jamie shared. And a behind the scenes photo I took.
Jamie Alvey as Franny in The Second Circle.
Cedric Gegel as Paul in The Second Circle.
A little update on The Second Circle for those interested: We’re picture locked and working on the sound and score. We’ll do the color grade last, and then we will be finished. 🥹
Letterboxd profile bio With favorites theme ✨weird girl✨ Cam, Dumplings, The Virgin Suicides, and Heavenly Creatures
Probably my favorite lineup in my top four in a while. ✨
To all of the women we’ve worked with and hope to work with in the future—tagged, pictured, or not—we are forever grateful and appreciative of all that you do.
We strive to keep our casts and crews as safe and comfortable as possible and to continually do better, affording those who work with us the humanity we ourselves have not always been granted, and establishing sustainable community bonds that will span our careers.
We wanted to kick off this month with a special message about what we aim to do as filmmakers and a company. Personally, I think we have done a decent job at living up to this thus far, but we do hope to continue growing and maintaining a safe environment for everyone we work with.
We may have swayed at least one of our friends to be onboard with this one already based on premise alone. Well, and his character description. 😈

Congratulations to @jamiealvey.bsky.social for winning Best Actress at 13horror.com’s Short Film Contest for her role of Orla in “Your Husband Was a Good Man!”
Honestly, I may have a piece in me in how all of this relates to The Ugly Stepsister after all this. One day. Maybe. This feels incredibly raw right now.
It’s like a sleeper agent has been activated, and I’ve been explaining everything to Jamie.
I gloss over it in my CanvasRebel interview, too.

In what little I get out there, I do discuss body image. My first venture was discussing how important Piggy (2022) was to me.

Watching this ANTM documentary has me reliving a lot, making me feel guilty and grotesque like I did when I was a preteen watching the actual show. It’s a lot for me to sit with, but I want to tackle this more, I think.
This lovely interview came out last month. I talk a lot about working on “The Second Circle” and finding joy in collaboration.

A thread of my WIPs that I need to reference more often to hold myself more accountable.
In hindsight, I wish I’d talked more about my own writing, too, because I have some banger ideas in the works, but maybe I can talk about that more in the future.
And special thanks to @jamiealvey.bsky.social for nominating me for this. ❤️
I’ve been meaning to share this here, but better late than never, right? I got to do a CanvasRebel interview recently. Catch me talking costuming and conceptuals for Bystanders and @loveandhorrorprod.bsky.social shorts, writing, body image, and more.

Heck yeah, you were!
