Spent so many Friday nights and weekends on a bus as a teenager traveling the state with the band or for competitive speech. Spades only required a deck of cards, paper, and pencil.
We were cutthroat but laughed a lot. The core group also cut across all the regular teenage cliques.

Too many to name. I worked at a radio station for a few years.
Tan backdrop with teal border. Text says “I have had Long Covid since my infection in January, 2021. Millions need urgent, meaningful, and sustained action.” Above the text is a photo of SB Divya, a brown nonbinary person with short black hair and dark eyes, wearing a black KN95 mask with gold jewelry.
Most people live like the pandemic never happened, but some of us never fully got our lives back.
For 5 years, I’ve lived with Long Covid in the form of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). There are millions around the world like me.
Today is #LongCovidAwareness Day. Help spread the word!
I've backed both of these fabulous authors' current Kickstarters!

I'm enjoying my second read of Emelia's queer & furry noir murder mystery. Vella Redmane is so much fun to follow around, I'm picking up details I missed, the setting is 🤌, and the hardcover is so pretty

Sometimes the answer to the question “How should this sentence be repunctuated?” is “By being entirely rewritten.”
[much better, I think]
Anxiety Blob by Nanea Hoffman saying "I love you weirdos." I don't think I say it enough but I'm really grateful for my friends who live in my computer. I love that we can bond and be weird together and not even have to leave our houses. Or make ourselves socially presentable.
A #Christmas story from the French supermarket chain Intermarché. The message (as this isn't English-subtitled): "Try eating some vegetables." Check out the fabulous animation! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na9V...
Please consider supporting. I'd really love to read these stories!

Grey and white domestic shorthair kitten sitting on a bed.
Oliver, our 9 month, 12 lbs "kitten." Happy #Caturday.
"Then eat it!"
Mom eats a handful, then asks if they'd like some.
That's when they laughed.
But they did make us eat ALL of the cheese before we boarded the flight since we couldn't take it on the plane.
Nearly everyone in the waiting room had some cheese for breakfast./end
(That's when the gun-toting people went on alert.)
They pulled it out, everyone looked at it for a moment, and my mother finally goes, "Oh! It's cheese!
Puzzled and disgruntled looks from the guards. "Cheese?"
Yes, cheese. My mother-in-law must have put it in my bag "
More looks./3
And that several soldiers with machine guns were on alert.
After a few tense minutes the guards laughed and waved my mother through.
Mom said there was a big rectangular block which the X-ray machine couldn't see through in her bag and the guard asked what it was. She said she didn't know./2
Back in 1995, my husband, my mother, and I visited my grandparents in Istanbul. Every morning my grandma served us local cheese my mother fell in love with.
Fast forward to the security checkpoint in the Istanbul airport where my husband and I breezed through and then noticed my mom had not./1

What a horrible situation for everyone.
I imagine this also affects regular college students. I was 17 as a college freshman, and I wasn't the only one.
Thank you!
#Caturday. Same Oliver.
Back-end guy didn't think this through.

Oliver, a grey tiger stripe and white kitten, sprawled on his back sleeping.
Oliver's excited to meet his cousin.

Oh, it's true. He texted me the entire time.
Hugs from afar
