We WILL get to the end of this current nightmare. We should be thinking now about what we want America to look like when we have a chance to. begin again.
The most powerful nation in the world could demand fair taxation of its richest citizens; we haven’t had that because of the political sway of the billionaire class.
The most powerful nation in the world could have a system of free or near free college and tech schools; we haven’t had it because of the political sway of college lenders.
The most powerful nation in the world could afford universal healthcare; we haven’t had it because of the political sway of health insurance companies.
FDR said we “wouldn’t have to worry about a fascist takeover as long as democracy delivers on its promises.” We’re where we are because democracy hasn’t done that…
There will come a day when people will tear down that ballroom, the way people in Germany tore down that wall. And we will take sledgehammers to the secret surveillance state apparatus lurking in the bunker beneath.
None of this, none of this, none of this will ultimately stand…
The astronauts have added some light and peace to the world at a time when we’ve really needed it. Praying for their safe and easy reentry.

People are being deported to countries in which they have no ties. They have no money, no connections, and are now separated from families and friends. In many cases, they’re landing in countries known for human rights abuses and they will be sitting ducks for the worst kinds of exploitations.
No Kings.
No Dictators.
No Fascists.
Not on our watch…
We need to start from new foundation: love for children, care for the earth, and waging peace.
There are internal tools for navigating chaos, and boy do we need them now. Where we put our consciousness is as important as where we put our external efforts.

Johnson knows fraud isn't the issue; the issue is Trump administration efforts to suppress the vote. Why? Because, as Trump himself even said, a free and fair election would turn his gang out of power. 2/
We do not need THE SAVE ACT to protect US elections from fraud. When asked to give on piece of evidence that such fraud exists, Speaker Johnson responded "We're not going to litigate that now." 1/
We need to think deeply about what all this means and how we got here, learn the lessons of our own history, and be prepared to rebuild this country on a more humble and just foundation when we have the chance.
There’s no guarantee that America will get out of this mess without going through a serious reckoning, but we need to do more than brace ourselves for that.
There has been a 50 year slide toward the militarization of foreign policy, the diminishment of focus and resources in the direction of diplomacy, to the point where serious peace-building efforts were considered quaint and unserious.
This catastrophe did not come out of nowhere, and it didn’t even originate with Donald Trump.
Beyond corruption. This is a partnership between government and corporate power that’s basically a fascist model.
