That is enough for me to know I don’t need to know

Two things can be true:
Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and
Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.
[mandatory “I know who I am” joke]
The national GOP tomorrow could easily pass a bill that bans gerrymandering and mandates competitive maps, but they won't. Instead they'll just lean into grievance and self-victimhood.
Right??
If you can name all the honorary societies you were elected to as an undergrad but can never remember which set of Greek letters is a frat and which a sorority….
It’s the other place you can grow up north of Canada!

Spawn was so thrilled when I told her to choose where we were going for a long weekend. She worked on it for weeks.
They’re awesome until you have to fix them.
Yes. I would replace state-drawn maps with an algorithm that starts at the southwest corner of each side and expands geometrically until it contains enough people. But Republicans are pissed because they want unilateral cheating.
Cf. the Bezos Post, "Republicans gerrymandering in Texas is fine, actually" b/w "Democrats gerrymandering in Virginia is a threat to democracy"
But yes, the red versus blue national maps are THE WORST. That blue Chicago dot has more citizens than everything from Minneapolis to Denver to Seattle.

Tfw you try a new workout, and the next day the big muscle groups are all like “nice job, man, take a day off, you earned it”…
and one specific muscle you weren’t even totally aware you had is like “dude, what the absolute FUCK were you thinking??”
I cannot fully straighten my arms
To be distinguished from “that’s really fucking stupid,“ which normally I have to say to contemporaries.
One can dream.
thank you bell hooks
Wish I could quote post for every white person who told me of course my roommate was different. (They were 50% comfortable saying it to him; they were 99% comfortable saying it to me.)
“I have t-shirts older than you are, and I bought them in college.“
File under “true things I did not say to partners at other firms today.“
Because an Italian “uncle” told you to, and it’s better not to ask questions.
I still have him third behind Jordan and Russell, but goddamn is he good.
I mean, I’m from Detroit, so I get it.
Counterpoint: I am decidedly adult and I have way more trouble dressing myself than when I was ten.
But you don’t trust your dog
We have Coney Islands, but they’re Coney Islands, and we have Greek dives, but they’re not…the same. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations.
(Yes, yes, I know that was a cynical ploy to sell Spock schlock. But still not a bad idea.)
Is Cory Booker going to be a thing? I would actually quite like Cory Booker to be a thing.
