I think the gerrymandering race to the bottom is genuinely bad and undemocratic and unfortunately what the dems are doing is the least bad of the bad options available.

If you ever want to see a good 1940's b movie thriller that gets the job done quickly & efficiently while still maintaining mood, suspense & atmosphere, watch "My Name Is Julia Ross". Is it a bit old fashioned? Yes, but it's also great
Hollywood needs to bring back tightly written 90 minute thriller movies. At one point Hollywood was good at making fast-paced economical thrillers but they seem to have lost their way.
Part of the problem is, the runtimes on movies nowadays are too long and encourage flabby scripts.
Good piece- well worth the read
Wrote about Palantir and Alex Karp's whiny bullshit. GROW UP DUDE.

SEN. @ossoff.senate.gov : “The faithless president depicts himself as Christ while he plunges the nation into wars of choice… Remember — While you pay more for everything, the First Family’s wealth is growing by billions. Because they’re crooks, and everybody knows it.”
This seems newsworthy. AI-generated pro Trump social media is proliferating

A bit more Dead Meadow
Saw Dead Meadow tonight
JD Vance talks about theology with the confidence that Silicon Valley types make macro-economic forecasts
When Tapper reminds her that Trump said "a whole civilization will die tonight", Stefanik answers with a straight face that everybody supposedly knows that Trump meant the regime, not the "whole civilization". He used the phrase "whole civilization" not regime. But she's too dishonest to admit it.
a real testament to stefanik’s total lack of dignity that she is doing this AFTER trump totally threw her under the bus, backed up, and ran her over just to be sure
There’s a reason Republicans don’t constantly shit on their own voters and that’s because it is an abysmal strategy for winning elections
Elliot Easton is such a good guitarist

it really is remarkable *how mild* the op-ed that she wrote was. It really shouldn’t matter what she said, but I think they chose to make an example of her precisely *because* she didn’t do anything remotely wrong. They wanted to show they could do this to anyone.
Love this song. Steve Winwood always sounds so effortless.

“They absolutely impounded. He just lied to America,” Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, told TPM in response to Vought’s remarks.

Does it make sense to kill approved green energy projects when AI is increasing demand for electricity? No
You just know that when it comes to wind energy, the thing that motivates him to want to kill wind power is the fact that he's mad he can see wind turbines from his golf course in Scotland
So depressing to see Trump consistently undercutting green energy adoption. At a time when AI is creating more demand for electricity, he is cancelling and/or hobbling green energy projects.
He's still a Fox tv host at heart. Slicked back hair, tailored suits and a conscious sustained effort to project his boss's self-serving version of reality as convincingly as possible to the audience
Chuck Schumer's two votes tonight in favor of bombs and bulldozers to Israel is yet another reason Senate Democrats must vote to remove him as leader post the midterms.
Stocks are at an all time high, corporate profits are up, consumer confidence is at an all time low. Is this really sustainable?
JUST IN: John Eastman, the conservative attorney who helped devise President Trump's last ditch strategy to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has officially been disbarred, per the California Supreme Court:
Note how Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, is absolutely convinced he understands the Bible and Catholicism better than the Pope
I wish this article had gone into more detail about the adverse effects on Europe, Africa and the the Americas that are apt to happen if the AMOC collapses. But as it stands, it's a disturbing finding.
