We would also be remiss not to note that certain lenience is given in particular to fanartists with large enough followings because they are a harder loss for people to cope with than writers. So interesting

"people don't want to hear about drama" I'll bet they don't, and that's absolutely fine!
But I think they should be given the option to have information that could keep them safe/from being taken advantage of, without it being trivialized as some silly thing that couldn't ever affect them

at the end of the day, I just don't think big issues (homo/lesbo/trans/etc -phobia, grooming, doxxing, stealing from charities... etc) should ever be boiled down to "fandom drama"

it sets a bad precedent, and makes it too easy for people to downplay events and sweep actually bad stuff under the rug

It really is embarrassing behavior for moderators. They hide behind claims of being very silly and unserious and then turn around and snap at people and and ignore anyone with concerns that are inconvenient to them and complain about their difficult jobs. The etiquette is lacking

yeah definitely interesting…. the whole situation has been kind of a mess. it’s been giving a bit of “maybe if we stop talking about, it’ll go away without being well-addressed”—not just from them, but others as well

and i can also see people feeling upset that they didn’t actually take accountability for some off color jokes they made publicly. there’s been a lot of dodging around that I feel

i wouldnt be surprised if all their comments were people saying “uh what????” though because the majority of their followers seem completely unaware whenever anyone mentions anything

they say that, yes, but they only protect certain sections/certain people of the sub and don’t follow their own general rules if they don’t deem you important enough to listen to. you can definitely have your own experience and perspective but that’s been mine.

All I’ve seen is constant rude mistreatment from the mods and refusal to listen to even basic requests, so I have very low expectations at this point!

she has officially blocked all of the comments/reblogs talking about the incident and calling her out. nice! guess it’s just business as usual.
