I don’t know the answer to this but I wonder if @transbookhistory.bsky.social does? Or @jpsa.bsky.social

In Brief: This study examines the concept of neutrality in Library of Congress Subject Headings and the subject approval process by analyzing proposed headings that were rejected over a nearly 20-year period. It considers the place of neutrality in libraries more generally and argues that equity, rather than neutrality, is the appropriate lens for judging subject heading proposals. Finally, it recommends several reforms that could improve the subject heading process and make it more equitable.

Very sad to see the news of Bill Buice’s passing. He was always such a sunny presence in the world of Rare Books, welcoming, kind, and enthusiastic.
It's true: I wrote a book. And what's more, the book is done and soon you'll be able to own a copy. And what's more more, if you want a hard copy you can order one for 50% off now, with the code SAR50. And if you want it digitally, it'll be open access!

I really do need to find someone to pay me to teach my c19-20 book history/bibliography class here in Atlanta. I mean probably when I have bandwidth I’ll do it on my own because I believe in the value of the class but it would be nice to get paid for it!
We are thrilled to receive a $280,000 grant through @gettymuseum.bsky.social's Black Visual Art Archives program! These grants aim to increase access to important archival collections across the USA with work by Black artists. Rose's grant is to support processing of the Jim Alexander photographs.
I do not know of a single public university president or chancellor who has even _tried_ making this point to the student body and their parents. It is such a pathetic abdication of leadership
So captivated by this Lavender Baedecker from the @roselibraryemory.bsky.social collections. Circa early 1960s. Of course I had to look up Birmingham to see where the gay bar used to be
