But have you heard about the awesome new “America Arch” that’s going up in the middle of the Potomac???

Trump is upset by Mamdani's plan to tax multimillion dollar second homes that are not primary residences in the city because it affects him personally.
Dear Christians,
Hating other people and actively working to harm them IS heretical and blasphemous.
Giving your allegiance to and placing your trust in political and economic power that seeks to dominate and control, IS idolatry.
You didn’t have to wait for a picture of Trump dressed like Jesus.
By their hypocrisy, you shall know them.
I think it’s more that they are selfish.
Until it affects me or personally offends me - I don’t care.
So my question, is why was Trump portraying himself as Jesus so offensive to you, but not his racism…his sexual assaults…his mocking the disabled…his hunting down of immigrants…his insurrection?
Linda Yaccarino replies to a Zohran Mamdani tweet to say that taxing rich people's penthouses is "actually one of the scariest things I have ever seen"
Zohran Mamdani said he's going to start taxing rich people who buy luxury housing in NYC but don't actually live in there, and the former CEO of Twitter/X called it "actually one of the scariest things I have ever seen."
Everything they do is on purpose.
Then they lie and claim that wasn’t what they meant.
I agree with everyone who calls this administration evil.
I have never thought any of them - including Trump - was “stupid”.
They know what they’re doing.
I see a lot of people I know who have been supportive of Trump now saying “the man is crazy. He must be removed.”
Glad you’re on board.
Every voice raised against him is needed.
But I won’t ever forget how much you were ok with; how much you were willing to ignore and how long you sat silently.
I mean, if Trump can quote Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde” in his campaign rally speeches…..
Exactly.
The truth is “man” at the time most of our current liturgies were composed, meant “male person” and that was considered “normative” for humanity, which was fundamentally rooted not in etymology but patriarchy.
So yes. We need to move on.
It’s funny how hard some people will fight it.
Christian nationalist Department of War head Pete Hegseth quotes “the Bible” during prayer service - but actually quotes “Pulp Fiction” instead says everything about the sincerity of faith and actual knowledge of scripture these MAGA evangelicals actually have.

Doug Ford is determined not to go down like his brother Rob.
Ontarians must be equally determined to bring him down.

"The unmitigated gall, Jeeves!"
"Of whom, Master Weston?"
"These blighted pinko-socialist ne'er-do-well-ers, Jeeves. How dare they insult my fink pricing?"
"Most incommodious, sir."
"Why, without fleecing the poor, how am I to amass ponderous wealth?"
"Fairly, sir?"
"Precisely: out of the question."
4/ If we "People of the Word" want to be inclusive, then we need to start with our words.
Consider the words you use in your own thoughts.
Consider how you speak and pray.
Consider the language you use in your written communication as well as the public liturgies of your worship community.
3/ Even traditional language prayers using "thee" and "thou" can be easily tweaked with a simple substiution, changing "all mankind" to "all people" or even just "all".
We can easily say "children" or "siblings" instead of "brothers" (adding "and sisters" still leaves out non-binary people.)
2/ God's ways are not man's ways.
Jesus loves all mankind.
We must love our fellow men.
If you mean ALL people, stop leaving half of humanity out. It is so easy to say "humankind" or "humanity" or even "people", yet "man/mankind" seems so ingrained in our collective language, many don't bother
One thing that rankles me is when Christians - especially those who consider themselves "progressive" - still use "man /men /mankind" to speak of humanity. I see and hear this all the time.
Policing language is tricky.
People generally mean well.
But they are ofen ignorant of how words exclude. /1
It’s an American Protestant twist on the age old problem within Christianity - institutional religion becoming a worldly power more aligned with the state and its aims than the Kingdom of God and its aims. Not unique to evangelicals of course.
Yes, and that’s a process that started long before MAGA. The KKK, Dispensationalism, the rise of the religious right in politics, Focus on the Family, Hobby Lobby l, tv evangelists and the rise of the megachurch etc all have played a part.
2/ If this is the first time you think Trump is “acting like Antichrist”, then you have a deeply flawed understanding of Jesus and Christianity.
It isn’t that Trump “has finally gone too far”.
It’s that your “love of neighbour” -expected by Jesus of his followers,- didn’t go nearly far enough.
What offends me most about the Trump / Jesus meme isn’t the meme (MAGA has been worshipping Trump for years. Why be surprised he took it seriously?) no, what offends me is that THIS is the line for so many Christians.
Not his racism, misogyny, sexual assault, mocking the disabled, lies and war./1
Oh to be a mind reader…
Can we have dinner in the change room of my gym? The lighting here is 👌
Also, good morning!
The theological terms are:
Idolatry
Blasphemy
Sin
The psychological term is
Psychopathic narcissism
It’s aged terribly over the last year. No idea why.
It depends.
Some versions is “I”.
Others are “life”.
I went with life because I’m still beautiful. 😊
