I was born and raised in Maine and was introduced to Red Rider/Tom Cochrane when Lunatic Fringe was released. Been a fan ever since and love that my record collection includes most (not all) of their/his releases. The Neruda album is a classic as far as I'm concerned.

Great album. If you have it on brown vinyl, it's highly collectible and can fetch upwards of $500.

I was living in Springfield, MA at this time and saw this video on MTVs 120 Minutes. I was hooked. I worked at a nightclub in Springfield and Joey Santiago, who was from nearby Longmeadow, MA, came in. I recognized him and said how much I loved the band. He was gracious and thanked me. Good guy.

Unfortunately, the Star Trek shows are on Paramount+ which is owned by scumbag humans who contribute $$ to a pedophile. I ditched Paramount+ as soon as this became clear as I won't support anything/anyone who contributes to people who rape children. And I love ST, but not enough to support Paramount

Although Black Dress doesn't really hold up, the rest of this album is crackin', and it's my favorite DM release. I was in the Navy at the time on an aircraft carrier in the Med and bought it (on cassette) in the ship's store.

Great song from a terrific album. Foo Fighters, back in their early days, covered Down In The Park for the X-Files soundtrack.
