Maybe sometimes it's ok to just give a guy a fish.
You know, like Jesus did.

A story from one of our members:
In February 2025, I met an unhoused neighbor across from my house for the first time. I visited her and her partner during lunch breaks and evening walks, sometimes with water and food and other times just a big hug.
Of all the slang to make a comeback, I honestly didn't predict I'd be seeing "noice" everywhere!
Given that the agents who've shot people thus far are longtime employees, I think we need to talk a little less about incompetent bozos joining up, and a lot more about how and why working for ICE/CBP is radicalizing incompetent bozos into murderous stormtroopers.
The ICE officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti have been there for over 7 years. These aren't the undertrained, reformable recent hires Democrats are trying to sell you. This is their best case scenario. Abolish ICE.

It is also about racism, obviously. But even having lived in Texas for 3 years, I can tell you a large portion of voters are just living in constant fear of every bogeyman Republicans can dream up. It's just ridiculous their fear is used to justify trying to oppress places like Minneapolis and LA.
I saw a video where Minnesotans were telling ICE agents that they weren't wanted. One agent retorted that this is what people voted for in the last election, to which a person said, "not here". ICE is only terrorizing communities that didn't vote for this because this about punishment and terror.
As we grieve for Alex Pretti and Renee Good in MN, please do not forget Victor Manuel Diaz, who died in ICE custody after being taken from here. And all others who have died in their custody.
man.
Group of around 20 people bunched inside the hallway of a church. The picture is bordered with a thick light pink and a thin white line with the text “Join us for outreach!” on the middle top of the photo and “Saturday, 11/22 - 12:00 PM Meet at Immanuel Presbyterian Church 3300 Wilshire Blvd, LA CA 90010 (Parking lot on Berendo St.)” on the middle bottom of the photo. There is an icon of overlapping purple and red heart with “KTOWN FOR ALL” in white letters centered on the overlapping hearts on the right bottom corner of the photo.
Join us for outreach! We always go over our guidelines, and if you’re new, we’ll make sure you’re in a group with experienced volunteers - all you need to do is show up! We meet in the Immanuel Presbyterian parking lot at 12pm (you can park in the lot!)
See you there!
Political appointees should not be dictating the scientific conclusions of federal science agencies. This is wildly inappropriate of Secretary Kennedy and devastatingly dangerous for public trust in the CDC as a scientific authority.

My husband passed the bar exam! And while I'm not surprised, he did it under some impossibly difficult circumstances. In a year of a lot of darkness, I am glad for a small good thing.
A photograph of a dead and abandoned plant in a planter in Koreatown.
Planters and landscaping continue to be installed under the guise of "civic beautification"... but the ugliness gives the game away.
Their true purpose is the private co-opting of public land, as well as the displacement and erasure of our most vulnerable community members.
I'd like a stronger word for coward to describe Trump without trappings of misogyny. Feckless fuckface isn't quite doing what I need.
A week with my nieces and I'm realizing why you actually shouldn't introduce children to your beloved pop culture. Not much survives 20 listens in a row punctuated with things like "that's so preppy" or "I got you chat".
Republicans and centrist Dems really are taking "ask not what your country can do for you" very seriously.
I think my brand of irrelgiosity is something like "Yes, religion is the opiate of the masses, but I try not to judge anyone's drug use."
-Did a Studbud cross a line? Yes. Was it handled with kindness & accountability & without cancellation? Also yes.
-It was nice to see buckets of queer love & allyship for 72 hours straight.
-I take it all back; I get twitch now.
-Saniya taught Marina to dance, you can do ANYTHING just believe
-GloRilla was an inspired choice for performing at halftime. Diplo was kinda a weird choice for the after party. It's not her fault that Courtney didn't know who he was and asked him to change the music.
-Nneka => Comissioner when?
Image of WNBA player Britney Sykes holding a sign saying "PAY THE PLAYERS" at the end of the All-Star Game.
Top takeaways from All-Star Weekend:
-The coordinated "Pay Us What You Owe Us" shirts are proving once again that the WNBPA has the best union t-shirt game (watch Power of the Dream if you're not convinced)
-Players actively engaging in union organizing during the televised game is very cool.

I know south Asian men have been joking that Mamdani winning is just going to mean their parents will have higher expectations for them but just respond with "mom, you're not exactly Mira Nair."
I used to be pro-parks. Look what she's done.
I hope Traci Park gets hit by an Olympic air taxi.
"I can't believe restaurants would rather close than pay ballooning, unaffordable rent." -some landlord, probably
Feeling very grumpy with working my second Sunday in a row. I love outreach and wouldn't give it up for anything, but it eats up a good portion of my Saturdays. Sundays are my one day to do laundry, grocery shop, and clean, let alone relax. And it has taken a lot more from me than I realized.
Instead you end up with a bunch of persuasive people who are incapable of being persuaded.
Law is a profession made up a lot of competitive, individual overachievers who constantly thrown into situations where they have to cooperate with each other on teams or with opponents. Law school is cutthroat, others' success is your failing.
