Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.
This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.
It is impressive, in the current age of widespread shameful debasing of reputations in the face of far right authoritarianism, that no organization in the country has debased itself more or fallen further than the once great Washington Post.
Warsh refuse to answer whether Trump lost the 2020 election
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
If you take this contextual interpretation of 14A, you must do the same with 2A to remain intellectually consistent.
Without even commenting on the merits of his argument, it's clear he has 2 different judicial philosophies - 1 for policies/issues he personally supports, and 1 for those he doesn't.
Traders placed over $1bn in perfectly timed bets on the Iran war. What is going on? www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...
That, and obviously his family is raking it in too.
Win-win for him with no credible US enforcement agency in sight.
Donald is bribing people.
I think he's buying the interference of "allies" like MBS & techies that could create US-election altering results. False flags, bot networks, otherwise illegal surveillance, etc.
Pay w/stock market manipulation ahead of time.
Plausible, but I can't prove it.
I am proud that Democracy Docket was among the few news outlets covering these critical meetings.
Here are four big takeaways you need to know. www.democracydocket.com/analysis/4-b...
Ossoff: I don’t know who placed those trades, but I’ll tell you this: the SEC better find out. And if they won’t, when you elect this new majority in Congress and you give us gavels and subpoenas, we will.
Who could’ve predicted this would happen?
www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-ag... This is a great first step. It should be replicated every time an ICE officer commits a crime, which is something they do every day.
DOJ demanded voter files from all 50 states.
DOJ sued 31 states for refusing their demand.
My law firm intervened to protect voters in those cases.
DOJ is now 0-5.
My firm is 5-0.
Lesson: When we fight we win.
Trump is actually one of the few people whose word I would ignore in favor of the Iranian regime's version of events.
Let that sink in.
SEC gutted and politicized
Schiff: What more will happen? You know, really, the sky’s the limit. We have to anticipate they could create some provocation at a polling place to create a pretext to call on the military or to seize ballot boxes. And we’re going to be prepared for whatever they throw our way…
"I don't think people are sufficiently prepared notwithstanding what happened in 2021, for the possibility that he will try to fuck with this election. And he will. He's already basically telling us that's what he's going to do, just the same way he told us he would do that in 2020."
Tomorrow morning Democracy Docket will publish my latest on how we need to be aggressive in defending free and fair elections even if it means taking risks. It will only go out via email to Democracy Docket subscribers so sign up now. bit.ly/4qmEiFz
🚨BREAKING: The California Supreme Court permanently disbarred John Eastman — a key architect in President Donald Trump’s failed attempt to overturn the 2020 election — delivering one of the most consequential professional penalties yet for an election denier. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro accused Republicans in his state of blocking widely used reforms that would allow voters to fix mistakes on their mail-in ballots and have their votes counted — a fight that has defined voting in the battleground state for years. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Again, the platform must be institutional reform, & it needs to be immediately ready to go in Jan 2029. Popularism is a category error in the face of far right authoritarianism. The policies follow from restoring democracy & the rule of law & fixing the broken institutions, not the other way around.
Yes. I'm lamenting how there's a sizeable faction of accounts on Bluesky that don't understand this really quite simple concept and instead choose to hammer Democrats.
I won't claim Dems have played everything perfectly (they haven't by a long stretch). But the acrimony here by some is unwarranted.
Excellent piece.
There is a lack of enthusiasm from the average American to oppose the administration in a real & meaningful way prior to elections.
They simply don't understand the urgency, and I don't know how to convey it without sounding hysterical. I'm worried about the next few months.
Potemkin-ass blockade
Parts of this site may not like it
But in truth, I think Democrats who can simultaneously extend the bayonet to GOP elites and the olive branch to GOP voters may be optimal
Literally just QAnon. "Big week ahead." "Booms incoming." "SOON."
It's all just a big prosperity scam.
Far-right Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) put out a cryptic post on X Tuesday suggesting that there are "allegations" against an unspecified senator, and demanding that Senate Majority Leader John Thune investigate.
Less than three hours after the polls closed, Viktor Orban conceded that he lost. Five years after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he still falsely claims that he won.
