"Hornt up internet lesbians" was not a concern during previous eras of space exploration.

I love those trailing off disgruntled dog grumbles! Just such a funny little vocal journey.
I need a million to pay this & that & jet set regularly. No you don't. That's an ideal of luxury. Your needs are way simpler. You having that means others have nothing. You getting yourself in a bind where you need it is because you chose to become entangled in a lifestyle of capitalist values.
Terrorism is when you try to stop a genocide, free speech is when you try to start one.
8pm: tired but it’s too early to get in bed
10pm: tired but its still kinda early
12am: I’ll just wash my face
2am-5am: wide awake and full of regret
(Repeat every night for the rest of my life)
the kobolds have found you. you're saved. they know you were scared. lost out here all alone. but it's okay now.
Ask their sign then act surprised and say ”Really? You’re not a scorpio?” For whatever reason, they all hate scorpios.
Amazing. I just decided this is my new sign.
I *almost* agree, but I think the reasonableness is undermined by the fact of him writing in “Ugandan” (and “Black or African-American” being just an option on a form, not a descriptor he broadly used).
I don’t think there was any possible version of their criticism that was both reasonable & true.
I love the derpy squint!
what if instead of saying "I didn't mean those trans jokes that way" you said "actually trans people are cool and deal with a ton of shit and it's not right and I'm telling my fans we all need to stand up for you right now"
the best path to redemption is the one that isn't about your redemption
That’s OUTSTANDING. The best I came up with is that if JD keeps thinking he can talk Ex Cathedra, he going to find himself ex-cathedral.
screencap of a tweet with a photo at the bottom of JD Vance giving a talk, gesturing smugly with his hands Eric Daugherty • @EricLDaugh • 1h • JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO: "When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword - there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory." "In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology." "And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been - if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."
I’ve given this a great deal of thought, trying to come up with the perfect joke for this moment, and this is what I have so far -
POPE LEO: our religion teaches that this war is bad
VANCE: wow, who died and made YOU head of the Catholic Church??
POPE LEO: well, you should know, you were there
I wanna fund a study on why mullets are THEE official haircut of the nonbinary community
@realfollowers.bsky.social
cackle is also out

Easy: fill it with cherry/raspberry/strawberry pez.
Likewise. And thank you for this conversation.
I really really get that. And I’m sorry.
I got my boss fired on my way out. But the whole thing was the worst experience of my life, including cancer, and it’s not close. Wrecked my mental and physical health, my career, my life. I’m struggling to put the pieces back together almost 15 years later.
At the current rate, the entire House of Representatives will have resigned by November 17.
I completely agree about both the phenomenon and your explanation. In addition the entitlement, it’s the way they are allowed to dodge accountability in both interpersonal and academic/professional domains. They exploit the same social dynamics & structures to get away with both kinds of misconduct.
Maybe I should go back on T.
I envy folks who can grow proper werewolf facial hair.
Exactly this! And their *unwillingness to be capable* of understanding that broader context almost always makes them terrible teachers and colleagues.
And we should still punish and kick them out! For both moral and practical reasons. No amount of greatness at solving differential equations or whatever can make abuse ok or outweigh the harm of accepting it.
I’m really sorry they did that to you. I got pushed out of software engineering for similar reasons.
I think your point is completely valid about how academia (& other industries) tolerate and reward both abuse and fraud.
I also think that some abusers are talented at e.g. differential equations.
I think that the vast majority of them are severely overrated, but taking the stance that genius and abusiveness are mutually exclusive leads to survivors being disbelieved if their abusers are well-regarded academics.
The Vimes Boots Theory has been running up hard against "are these boots $200 because they're built right, or is that purely a brand positioning thing and they're made of the same 1mm-thick fake leather as the $50 ones"
