The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

They didn’t even wait two hours after Rümeysa Özturk’s release was ordered before publicly grabbing someone they shouldn’t have been able to grab. The timing was not a mistake. Ras Baraka is being punished because ICE lost in court.

NEW — I’ve obtained audio of new acting FEMA head David Richardson threatening staff in an all hands meeting this morning.

As first reported by Reuters, he told those who resisted change in the agency, “Don’t get in my way…I will run right over you.”

The 19 richest U.S. households saw a $1 trillion wealth increase in 2024, a rise that exceeds the size of Switzerland’s economy.

These 19 households now control $2.6 trillion in wealth — almost as much wealth as the bottom 50% of American households.

If this isn't an oligarchy, what is?

The FBI is trying to criminalize Habitat for Humanity for receiving climate grants from the EPA.

Yes, the nonprofit that builds houses for low-income people.

This clearly demonstrates just how absurd and extreme the Trump regime has become.
It's targeted harassment.

Last night I stood up for those who need Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Democrats will never abandon the fight to make sure every American has a safe, healthy, and financially secure life. #ISaidWhatISaid

I don't think there's precedent for this level of open corruption at the federal level, certainly not in the last 100+ years.

Musk says DOGE ‘restored’ Ebola prevention effort. Officials say that’s not true. USAID’s initiatives to fight Ebola and other diseases have been gutted, current and former agency officials said.

Every news outlet reporting Elon Musk's comment about accidentally canceling Ebola prevention efforts and quickly restoring them should also say they haven't been restored, they're still canceled, the outbreak-fighting teams are dismantled, the money is gone

Break decorum. Lead by example, show the American people you are willing to take the kind of risk that they will need to in order to continue resisting. Do not allow him to get through the speech. Take control of the narrative for at least one night.

Subject: Proposed Response to HHS Employees

HHS Employees -

On Saturday, you received an email from OPM entitled "What did you do last week." The directive stated employees were to submit five bullets detailing their accomplishments in the past week.
In discussions with OPM Officials yesterday and today OPM has now rescinded that mandatory requirement.

There is no HHS expectation that HHS employees respond to OPM and there is no impact to your employment with the agency if you choose not to respond.

That said, if you choose to respond, here are the guidelines you should follow:
Respond to the email by the deadline established (today @ 11:59 P.M.).
Keep your response at a high level of generality and describe your work in a manner to protect sensitive data, personally identifiable information, and applicable privileges to the extent possible. Do not (1) identify, by name or title, any other HHS employees with whom you have been working; (2) identify, by case name or otherwise, matters you are working on, or (3) identify any specific grants or contracts, or any specific grantees or contractors.
If you are engaged in scientific research or reviews, do not identify by name any drugs, devices, biologics, therapeutics, or similar items in your response. If you are engaged in any scientific experiments, research, or reviews, do not provide Information that could allow anyone to identify the precise nature of your work.
Respond by replying to the OPM HR email as instructed, with a cc: to your supervisor.
Assume that what you write will be read by malign foreign actors and tailor your response accordingly.

New — HHS just got another email with guidance stating that they aren’t required to respond to the 5 bullets email, but if they do they should follow specific guidelines including:

“Assume that what you write will be read by malign foreign actors and tailor your response accordingly.”

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid.

So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

NEW — In an alarming email last night reviewed by me, Coast Guard members learned that 1,135 members' direct deposit account routing information was compromised due to a data breach from unauthorized access.

It was only discovered because an officer “reported anomalous activity” on their account.

The 24 Hour Economic Blackout:
As our first initial act, we turn it off. For one day we show them who really holds the power.

WHEN:
Friday, February 28th from 12:100AM to 11:59PM

WHAT NOT TO DO:
Do not make any purchases.
Do not shop online, or in store.
No Amazon, No Wal-Mart, No Best Buy
Nowhere!
Do not spend money on Fast Food, Gas, Major Retailers, Do not use Credit or Debit Cards for non essential spending.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Only buy essentials of absolute necessity.
(Food, Medicine, Emergency Supplies)
If you must spend, ONLY support small, local, businesses

SPREAD THE MESSAGE:
Talk about it, post about it, and document your actions that day!

WHY THIS MATTERS:
Corporations and banks only care about their bottom line.
If we disrupt the economy for just ONE day, it sends a powerful message.
If they don't listen (they won't) we make the next blackout longer (We will).

This is our first action
This is how we make history.
February 28th.
The 24 hour economic blackout begins.

I know there have been a fair number of conflicting dates, so, let's organize and settle on February 28th to start.

Market Blackout. No buying. No major retailers. No Amazon.

For one day, we grind consumerism to a halt. (And with a little planning, this shouldn't be hard.)

Let's do it.
