This shutdown is now the longest in history, thanks to the Trump administration and their allies in Congress. They *could* fund the government and fix the health care crisis - but instead they’re prolonging the suffering of workers, just to break the Affordable Care Act.

Poster-style image with large bold text reading, “IF YOU’RE UNEMPLOYED IT’S NOT BECAUSE THERE ISN’T ANY WORK.” Beneath, smaller paragraphs explain that unmet needs like housing, education, and public health all require labor; the issue isn’t lack of work but an economy that ties employment to profit rather than social good. The final line reads “Storm is Coming.”

A grocery produce section displays colorful baskets of vegetables, including red and yellow bell peppers, lettuce, eggplant, okra, and green beans. In front of the photo, there’s a tweet overlay from user “brendannorth” that reads: “Repeat after me: Food is not a fucking weapon and any regime that weaponizes food is fascist.”

A Reddit post from the r/ICE_Raids subreddit describes the death of Randall Gamboa, a Costa Rican man who died after being detained by ICE. The post outlines how Randall was in daily contact with his family until all communication stopped suddenly in June 2025. His family was denied contact by ICE for six weeks before he was returned to Costa Rica in a vegetative state. He later died. The post ends with a GoFundMe link to help his family investigate the circumstances.

Randall Gamboa stands strong and smiling on a mountaintop holding the Costa Rican flag, wearing a gray T-shirt and jeans. The background is foggy and surrounded by greenery. Text below reads: “Randall months before.”

Before/After split image):
Left side: Randall smiles with a woman (presumably his partner), both looking happy and healthy.
Right side: Randall lies in a hospital bed in a frail, emaciated condition, hooked to oxygen with a blank stare.
Caption underneath reads: “Before/After.”

🥀Randall Gamboa died after being detained by ICE…

He was healthy, video-calling his family daily from detention. Then, communication was abruptly cut. Weeks later, ICE returned him to Costa Rica in a vegetative state. He never recovered. May he rest in power.

Florida ranks last in nation for state worker pay, new report shows State of Florida employees are the rock-bottom lowest hourly earners in the country, according to the online job site ZipRecruiter.

Not surprising whatsoever.

The more I learn about PERA (the NLRA law equivalent for public employees) the more apparent it becomes how this state is an employer haven & how workers have never mattered here…almost as if it’s rooted in brutal traditions…

Repubs are going after voting rights however they can. Why?

"As of 2024, the majority-minority states: Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, & New Jersey. These states have a higher percentage of people of color than the U.S. as a whole."

Any questions?

Chart showing GEO Group stock price for the past 1 year. It peaked in mid-January at just over $35 and has trended downward overall to its current price of $16.89.

After skyrocketing following the election and peaking just before the inauguration, GEO's share price has lost nearly all its so-called 'Trump bump' gains.

The post discusses how JD Vance deflected criticism by comparing the scandal to texts by Jay Jones, a Democrat, calling the comparison false. It explains how multiple state chapters (NY, KS, AZ, VT) were involved, and Vance’s associates supported the accused. Despite fallout and resignations, Vance didn’t condemn the scandal.

Final panel contains commentary and a stylized cartoon. Hurley concludes this wasn’t a harmless college chat but a preview of future Republican leadership embracing extremist rhetoric. The cartoon depicts two panels: the first showing a child in an “ordinary group chat,” and the second showing an adult in a suit at a desk in a hate-filled online space with monitors reading “BAN THEM ALL,” “WHITE POWER,” and “HATE.” The adult has a briefcase, symbolizing political ambition.
